Title: Getting new seats. Now what to do about the carpet?
Post by: 83Eagle! on April 27, 2011, 04:59:26 PM
Since I will have new (to me) seats that are in a lot better shape than mine here sometime next week I got to thinking I should do something about the sad excuse for carpet my Eagle has in it.  Since I am going to be pulling the seats this would be the best time to address the issue.

Here are my questions...
1.  Are there good sources for Eagle Wagon carpet?  My Eagle has nutmeg interior?
2.  How much would it run to get carpet?

I emailed a 'Nest member in Nebraska City who I have corresponded with many times about carpet.  Last I heard he was in the process of an engine rebuild and rplacing the carpet with new (including new sound deadening materials.

I am leaning toward taking the carpet out and leaving it out like another member has posted here in this section recently.

If I do that I obviously want to go with some type of bedliner type material for the floors.  I have some experience with bedliner material as I used it to reinforce the wheel wells of my camper after I patched a damaged area with fiberglass.

If I go with bedliner does anyone know of a source where I could get some that matches my interior?  I am thinking that black would not look good in my Eagle.

I would appreciate any input you all might have.
Here's a picture of the seats I am getting for reference...

In my opinion the old carpet would be better than any bedliner or other type of spray or roll on material. Is your carpet torn or just dirty? You can always pull it out and power wash it with some Simple Green.

The carpet in my Eagle is really dirty and there are a number of spots where it is completely falling apart.  If I go to take it out it is going to fall apart.  I doubt it would survive removal let alone a power washer.

If I hadn't just brought home a class C motor home I would order some carpet from there.  Found another source that a Nebraska City Nest member sent me info on, but I cannot find the link.

Maybe when I sell the popup camper I can order some carpet.

The carpet in my car right now its in pretty darn good shape minus a burn hole in the rear passanger side floor. Its easily consealed with a floor mat. Its got some very small stains..nothin that upholstry cleaner cant  remove easily..They are sun faded bit but overall pretty good shap.

Im buying a new molded carpet so I figured I would just throw the one thats in it away  Ill snap a pic of it when its out

your more than welcome to it once  the new one is in. (http://i1208.photobucket.com/albums/cc377/shanebo79/2430.jpg)

Hey Brandon,
Stockinteriors.com was the supplier we had talked about.  Price is 119.95 plus shipping.  I have the color swatches at home, I think it was #854 buckskin that was really close to nutmeg?Super easy to install. I have a bunch of the sound deadening material left over if you wanna come get it in Neb. City.  :occasion14:
can't beat new carpet smell!!

Sounds great Kyle.  Maybe we can swap for the padding material you need from my old seats.

Any good campgrounds down that way?  Have not looked yet.

Wabonsi State Park is just across the river in Iowa (8 miles)
Or Indian Cave State Park is 30 minutes south of Neb.City.
