Title: Calgary Eagle
Post by: 0stego on March 24, 2011, 03:36:20 PM
Saw a eagle wagon heading South on Sarcee trail at the bow trail intersection on Saturday the 19th. I was driving my '74 J20 heading North and honked but it only freaked out the Nissan in front of me. :P

Was in good shape, little to no rust at all from what I saw as I drove past. Was it anyone's here? ;)

What color was the car, and what time of day was it?

I'm just trying to remember if I was out and about on Saturday... don't think I was ever on Sarcee Trail though.

That's very close to where I live.  I could have been driving around that day.

Did it look like this car?

If that's the Eagle you saw, that was me.  I might have heard you honk, but I probably chalked it up to somebody honking at me 'cause I wasn't speeding up fast enough.  LOLOL.

Cool.  Yup, that was me, but I thought that was Sunday??  no matter.

do you live nearby, or use that route often?   You should show me a pic of your J20 so I know what to look for...

So you can distinguish it from the hundreds of other J-trucks still on the road?  ;)

If you see one not owned by Duane or Charlene, then chances are it's Ostego.  :)

Ok, well then I'm gonna have to look up what a J-truck looks like 'cause I can't remember.   Anyways, color and other things like a cap/no cap, roof lights, etc always help.

I don't usually recognize them till probably 5 minutes after I've passed them.

There's more than this - Mechanic, Duane, Hemlokk (he's away for a year)... El Matador could name more members that are here.  There's something like 6-8 members or more?

Dean?  you wanna chime in here... do you know how many members are here in Calgary alone?

Here are the Nest members I can think of in Calgary and surrounding area:

El Matador (Dean)
Whuntmore (Jared)
Mechanic (Patrick)
Duane2171 (Duane)
Jpgyrl13 (Charlene)
AB-SX4 (Marina)
Ahope (Angela)
Boonsie (Kyle)
Tony54 (Tony)
Hemlokk (Ian) currently overseas
Eaglefeather (Doug)
.:.Dingman.:. (Kevin)
0stego
Woody Wagon

That's 14 right there, although some aren't very active on here.  I can also think of one in Red Deer and two in Edmonton, as well as a few others sprinkled throughout Alberta.

click profile at the top, then account related settings. you can change it there, but your main username will be the same. people will see the new name though.

go into your profile, select "Look and Layout Preferences"   See where it says 'time format' in bold??  Right below it, it has a +- thing.    So look at the time displayed, then Look at your time, and then adjust +1 or -whatever you need to for it to show the right time.   or you can click auto adjust.  I just did the -1 in the box to get it to show the same time on my computer as the posts.

Now, it should work.  it's showing the right time for my posts.  (yup, I'm posting at about 17 minutes after 6 am - not counting when I modified this.)

Where 'bouts?
On the roof is a boat cradle/safari rack, thing sticking out the side is the exhaust for the furnace.

Camper has lots of goodies...(furnace, stove, fridge, bed ext..) posted pictures somewhere, I'll have a look for them. :)

She's a west coast island dweller... but I suppose we can grant her wish to be an honorary Calgarian.  There won't be any white cowboy hat ceremony, though.  :P

depends on who is driving the car, and how big the rims are, and how loud the stereo is...

they dont allow anything on the front three, no matter what the vehicle is. or, if im wrong and they do allow it, its a very small level of tint.
