1983,,eagle,,258 I6,,
runs and drives well 73K miles on it,,i believe from what i have read here that it last year for that body eagle,,and kinda maybe rare?
Not too shabby! Sx4's are very hard to come by....Gongradulations on an awsome find!!
Looks pretty good! Where in Ohio are you? Was begining to think I was the only one left in Ohio that still owned a eagle.
Yes, the 83 SX/4 was the rarest of the three years with only roughly 2500 being made.
very nice! SX/4s aren't so rare in the east. As soon as i get some time free I am going to seal the deal on a pair of 83 SX/4s from the original owner, they are mostly complete down to the "his" and "hers" plates on the front
Welcome to the nest and that very nice :eaglebig: You got lucky on that one..........Don

sleepsundercars is an ohio resident and he has quite the AMC collection; concord, spirit, eagle wagon, eagle kammback, and a pair of ramblers

the brand pyle makes a shaft style radio that excepts SD cards, USB, has a aux port, and digital display. I got one off of amazon for about 60 dollars that included 2 speakers. Pretty good unit to place in the car instead of cutting the radio opening out for a CD player
They do make a full replacment molded carpet for those at www.auto-interior.com/carpetindex...They got em for about 150.00 Im fixin on getting one for my baby "Ginger" in a few weeks Ill let ya know how it is....Iv heard some pretty positive feedback on these carpets.
jcwhitney also carries the carpets for the wagon and four door sedans as for the other models i'm not sure but it doesn't hurt to check.
Odd that a DL model has full vinyl seats. I will have to check but I think part of the DL package was the vinyl/fabric version. Looks to have plenty of potential. 1983 was the last year for AMC to build 2-door cars (that were not Renault based).
That car certainly has alot of potential.
well she runs and drives real nice,,the more i drive it,,the more i wanna drive it,,but looks like to me i'm gonna end up with plenty invested it it,,but its a good fit for me,,i dont know body work,,and the body/chassis are in good shape,,most of the interior needs freshened up,,some mechanical work to get thru,,i can turn wrenches!,,if i put in a non-factory type cd player,,does it matter? i dont quite think it's show car anyway,,the pre molded carpets are pretty salty in my book,,i need sunvisors!
the thing with an aftermarket CD player you have to cut the radio bezel to install it and then there is no way of going back to the way it once was. I personaly like the look of the shaft style radio in a vintage car, but to each their own

that is the way i went and i got it off amazon.com with 2 speakers for under 70 bucks
I believe before I would cut to fit I would mount it in the glove box,but to each there own.You can always buy a used piece that has not been cut to return it to stock. Just my two cents.
another option is to find a later model parts eagle that had the digital display radio and swap the center dash panel. It would be the simulated wood grain so you would probably want to grab the glove box door and the gauge cluster trim too so it all matches. :)
