Hello all!! :newbie: Here!!
After searching for a good CHEAP 4WD vehicle for a few months I came across a 1986 Eagle Wagon. I did a bit of researching on Eagles and fell in love!! What a cool ride!!
Runs real nice, 150K, and really doesnt look all that bad. Fairly straight and rust-free body, with a real clean undercarriage.
I'm going to activate myself a PhotoBucket account to share pics with everyone here.
Looking for a good place to get parts. I'm used to driving old VWs so finding quality parts has always been a chore. The Eagle is gonna be what keeps my bus out of the snow. And THANK GOD FOR THE HEATER in this beast!!! I don't have to bundle up in layers to run across town anymore!
Really looking forward to this new journey in the land of AMCs!
Anyone in or around Cheyenne WY? Ive seen a couple other Eagles around town, and I would LOVE to meet up and learn what I can.
Look for pics later today!
~Jeff

HI Jeff welcome to the nest ..I am not in your airera but you will find who is. that is one beautifully eagle ........ :amc:........Don
Being able to now just hit any ol' FLAPS and get parts is AMAZING!!!
There's a member a couple hours north of Cheyenne. He runs Evolution 4x4. Here's his website. http://evolution4x4.net/
You'll see pictures of his Eagles on there. He's a very knowledgable individual.
He's the closest to you that I can think of. There are a number of Colorado members, who I imagine some would be a close drive.
actually 83eagle i believe twoslowinwyo lives in Cheyenne.
Welcome to the Nest! I had no trouble approving your account as I figured you were an Air Force Husband? The location of your ISP also added to my assumption.
That is good looking Eagle.

There's not very many of us male spouses! And even less long-haired bearded ones! Talk about a sore thUmb!
But actually I'm just an over-the-top mega-spammer!! >:D
The "Squid" knob drove me crazy all day!! It's a puzzling little doodle they went with!
I'm getting greasy tomorrow with a tune-up! The first time tinkering on a "new" vehicle is always a great feeling for me!
So what is "The Bible" of Eagle manuals? Chiltons? Haynes? Some obscure underground writing?
The AMC TSM's and MR's usually available at the big auction site as either used or nicely done reprints and we do have a scanned version in the Eagle Nest Store. Its for the '82/83 models, but much of it applies to all other years.
The Chiltons and Haynes manuals, many think, make nice coasters or paperweights.

That's who I could remember. I knew there was another member. twosloinwyo sent me some stuff that is in the grab bags from the meet. I remembered he was from Wyoming, but couldn't remember the screenname.
YEEE HAAA!!! somebody else from Cheyenne!. :blob1: welcome to the nest and congrats on your eagle. as far as i know there are only a few of us in town. my son has a 84 wagon, you might see it parked at king soopers, (that is where he works) another brown one, i think the owner is named Doug, but i have not talked to him yet. and i have a 85 wagon that is going through some repairs right now. if you need parts go to bud's wrecking and tell BOB (the owner) that LAZ sent you, you will get a discount on some parts, right now he has FOUR eagles in the yard. 2 wagons, a s/x , and a kamback. also advance auto parts on dell range is very good at getting me parts, mike, Kevin, or Jason know the eagles, been doing business with them for 10 years and they know their stuff. by the way i was also a dependent spouse for the duration. with a beard and long hair. ;D PM me if you want to get together some time. LAZ
I had a Chilton's Manual. I have no idea what happened to it. I have an 80-86 AMC non-sppecific one now though. It is not the greatest.
The TSM I got awhile back from another Nest member is very useful. I am glad I have it. It is definitely worth the money. The one on the computer is decent. But, I personally like the old school books better.
Hey Laz! We should definitely get together sometime.
I actually parked next to your son's at king soopers right after I bought mine!
And the skinny white guy (real nice guy, just forgot his name!) at Advanced told me about you too!

The stereo does work, kinda. I think the antenna is unplugged. It picks a few AM stations and two on the FM.
Finally got to use the 4WD today in the snow! Not much snow to speak of but I climbed a little rock in my front yard for a quick test!
Welcome to the nest. I checked out your You Tube page, and nice playing on the mandolin, but where are the videos of the eagle?? (j/k).
Lots of info here. Just read or ask.
