Title: about the shift motor
Post by: leeSmith on February 20, 2011, 05:09:22 AM
My questions are one, what all do I need to know about locking the shift motor in because the rear actuator has been blown or is leaking? Second and most of all, if the shift motor is weak will that matter once I've permanately engaged it? I have already wrote down the proceedure of how to manually lock in the transfer and how the motor is hose clamped. I guess this is somewhat one question, if weak motor will the lock in work yet when engaged?

If the transfer shift case motor is weak then the change lever will probably need to be secured in what ever mode you place it in as it could "drift" into "false neutral".
