rain water leak
« on: January 22, 2012, 02:14:54 PM »
noticed the driver's side carpet getting wet after raining.  so, on a dry day, i hosed the area and found a leak in a seam above the emer break.  limited access due to emer brake/couldn't find the nut-side of the bolts, sealed it with an all weather duct sealing paste.  few days later after a snow melt, leaking elsewhere, and pulled off the gum-backed insulation on the left vertical panel/large oval hole where elec wire comes through, to be wet.  the duct sealant area was dry, so where might it be coming from?

wagon.  roof rack?  no, i didn't hose that high, and so far, the windshield sealant appears intact/lifted the chrome strip in that corner.  and of course, after last eve's rain, the floor board has water on it this evening, but not a wet trace as from where it came.  i think i'm in for a stationary hose and hanging out under the dash
