need efi help

We are wanting to put efi on my sons 1982 spirit.It has the chevy 2.5 (151") engine in it with the vari jet carb.This is my son's first car and we want it efi.I've tried to find a kit for this engine but without luck.I'm reluctant to try to make,or strip,a wiring harness because wiring is my weak spot.Can members help me come up with a list of parts I need and what to do about the wiring.I'm surely not the first guy that's  wanted to efi one of these.

Its a Pontiac Iron Duke, not Chevy.

Actually, you're both right, BUT the version he has is SBC pattern and not 60 degree pattern like the S10s and FWD GMs and Caddy.

Yes mine has the sbc trans pattern.Any thoughts on an efi system for it?

Maybe go with the GM throttle body set up???
