The Eagles all used the 23 spline transfer cases, regardless of the transmission they were used behind.

Some of the 4 cyl Eagles came with AX-4 or AX-5 trans which was 21 spline
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
