Cross country trip x2
« on: October 16, 2011, 04:50:18 PM »
For those that remember, a year ago Sept, I won an 83 Eagle in a raffle while living in Maine. That November, my daughter and I drove the Eagle to Montana where she was going to work. While I had some maintenance performed prior to the trip, little things kept the car from doing to well over the Montana winter. THis past spring, she had it worked on and it was again operational. Well, today, I just completed another cross country trip in the Eagle from Montana to Va Beach. On the way out last year, had to replace and alternator and battery and this trip back, battery, battery cables and fan belts. Winter wasnt good for the battery and cables should have been replaced long ago. Belts I did because I couldnt get them to quit squeeling. Otherwise, trip was uneventful cruising the interstates at 70+ mph. Car has a few squeeks I dont recall when driving the first trip but have to attribute that to age.

Have a Good Egg!!  I remember when you won that Eagle.  Glad your trip was successful.  Well, you completed a trip in a vehicle that old, so I consider it successful.
The battery must have been faulty and should have been under warranty.

I coulda swore that was an 8 track player. Good to see the the hood release is still all in one piece. Does the tach still work?

Tach works sometimes. Thats my next project. Slowly getting all the bugs worked out of it.

Need to find a job to be able to afford it.  Would love to visit my Uncle in Culver City, CA as well.  Been nearly 14 years since I have been to California - way too long.
