My 82 eagle SX4
« on: February 03, 2012, 12:49:48 PM »
Some time back I bought me an '82 Eagle SX4 for CHEAP and even drove it home. So far I have had to replace the plastic valve cover which had a 4 inch crack that was leaking about a quart of oil in 10 minutes. (You could litteraly track me through town). Rebuilt the original Carter 2 bbl. Carb. Put in a new clutch slave cylinder. Removed about a mile of rubber vacuum lines. And when I finnaly was about to get her started again, guess what, dead battery. Anyways its got a 258 I6 with a 4 speed and not a spot of rust save one about the size of a nickel of surface rust on the hatch. It looks as if it was somebodys project car because in the back is a new dash pannel with a new radio, new drivers side mirror, end caps for the rear bumper and differend hubcaps. I will post pictures when I get some taken.

Congratulations.  It sounds like you made out really well.
You may want to keep those bumper ends under lock and key.

Ok so here's an update 2-4-12 I was trying to get the hydrolic clutch assembly bled out but for some reason it doesn't want work for me. Maybe there is a trick to it but it wont keep pressure in it. So now im going to pull off the line between the master and slave and put a new one in to make sure its not a pinhole in the line. Now for the bad news, after the last time we bled the clutch assembly we ran it to see if it would go into gear. Well obvoiusly it didn't and then I hear my dad screaming at me to cut the motor because the wiring around the solenoid started on fire :censored:. It got too dark out to keep going so we called it a night.
