Blue interior paint
« on: October 03, 2014, 02:31:05 PM »
Has anyone tried to paint their interior plastic back to a blue color?  I'm looking for something as close to original as possible.

It's not a light blue or a dark blue, I'm not sure what AMC called it - I'd say it's a medium blue, but not a gloss.

If anyone knows what color code AMC used I'd like to know.

Let me know what has worked for you!  Thanks, John

SEM makes paints for plastics.  You may want to check what they have.  IIRC they have a slate blue or something close to it.

All 1981 Eagles with a blue interior were an interior code "3" (the third digit in the 4-digit trim tag number on the door; if its still there).   They called it either "blue" or "slate blue" depending on what seat option was chosen on the order.

Any decent auto paint store should be able to match it with the codes in their specific paint brand books.

hi just redid my 84 sedan interior SEM brand has a color called BLUEMIST #15213 that is , i swear, an exact match. It also helps to get their vinyl/plastic prep for proper adhesion
