Title: Beware of spammers
Post by: mudkicker715 on March 23, 2018, 07:42:02 PM
It seems like some spammers/or jerks are leaking through are security background web address  check. Report there user name to me or vangremlin please via pm. We will make them disappear.

Also no one here will ever ask for any money ever. Report things asap it helps us all.

Also another note is i have been using a secondary check for members trying to get in. It is a double check, and catches more that slip by our system. Probably not perfect, but it has been better than a month ago by far. Plus its still easy to enroll, meaning no "hard" questions.

Happy to eagle with any of you legit eaglers at anytime.

Thanks, Paul.   I've noticed that the Ruskie Viagra ads have been reduced significantly!!   I appreciate your diligence!

Its really not much extra to do it the way i am  now. I also am leary of approving some like one with a user name of pizza________. It came up clean on my alternate check engine.I will wait it out, and see if they or it try a different registration with same ip address.  Thanks anyway.

Just saw a spammer that was approved months back. They are gone. I just made them disappear i should have ran them through my secondary check, i didnt cause i wanted it gone fast. I saw nothing terrible (just a little skin) but it made me wonder. A couple links i clicked were blocked by my thing so before someone else with maybe a lesser firewall/security clicked i killed it. Anyways anything that looks bad please report this, i get an email right away saying somthing is reported. If awake i check as soon as i see it. This should be the default for all admins/and mods? Maybe.  Just a fyi to our members.

Happy Eagling.

That's what I do when I get a report of spam postings, delete first, ask questions later lol.  The members do a really good job of alerting us when spam occurs.

about once a week or so I get a odd email welcoming a new user. Usually Russian in origin, this one is. I believe they are being filtered out by our spam filter. I do a search for the user and nothing is there.
