... how would you build your Eagle?
I actually like a lot of things about my Eagle. If money were no object, I would put lockers in both axles, swap in an AX-15, an Edelbrock 4.0 head with the 6=8 intake and a 4bbl carburetor, a better cam, a set of Jeep turbine wheels, and a proper receiver hitch.

It's entirely possible that's the case.

Maddog. That makes me wonder if maybe it was a popular aftermarket one, maybe distributed by Sears or something.

I have seen other eagles with the same hitch as mine as well as the one on MJ's, so it's hard to say whether mine is aftermarket or not but it definitely feels like it is with as many washers as they have on the underside of it. :o

Eagle Sightings / Re: How often do you see another Eagle?

Other than meeting with another member here a few years ago, ( he has 3 or 4) very rare, once every other year or so. First one in probably 2 yards was this past July in or near Liberal Kansas when I was riding my motorcycle back from Las Vegas.
1 near Cheyanne WY 3 years ago.

The one near Liberal, KS is the one I saw too. Brown station wagon. I think the town was Meade, but I don’t remember for sure.

89MJ yours looks more like the one depicted in the manual. Maddogs looks different, but yeah could be a year difference or aftermarket.

I’ll have to get a better pic of mine in a couple of weeks. That isn’t the same as mine, could be a year difference though.

I have something similar to that on my Eagle.

I’ve seen it on a few cars, which is making me think that it was a factory or dealer installed thing. But the trailer wiring seems sketchy, making me believe it probably wasn’t factory, but maybe more likely dealer installed.
Here is a picture of mine. And I too have a trailer wiring harness plug attached with wire nuts.
