well i have finally gotten survivor off the trailer now that my yard is dry and found a few minor problems. first was a bent rim got that fixed. second was that the kickdown rod was disconnected got that put back on. and last and worst of all a bad exaust leak coming from the top of the manifold where it connects to the block still gotta fix that.

Man I wish I was close enough to come downthere and check that thing out. Identical to my car, but with all the goodies, except for the slushbox. They even did the same ratty "speaker mod"...... Very very nice find.... I wish I could nab that driver side fender lol XD

Cool, I would love to have an Eagle limited (who wouldn't).  The leather Eagle seats look so comfortable.  Has it been repainted at some point?  I thought white was only offered on the "1988" models...

well i took survivor out for her first test run today and she got very hot very quikly. she ran good until she got really hot. needs new thermastat, tranny fiter and fluid, and anouther oil change thanks to 10 year old pensoil. smokes like crazy though due to the fact that i couldn't get all of the 10 year old gas out of her.

i supossed that the thermostast remains closed or maybe a faulty head gasket, why don´t you check about the radiator level to see if the water level decreases, sometimes a poor oil pressure can cause this issues either

from my experiences if you have a faulty head gasket look for 2 things water in the oil, and/or bubbles in the radiator

it took about seven minutes to go from cold to the red zone. checked the oil it's dark but no water it so good there and the only reason it's as dark as it is is because it had pensoil in it for 10 years.

I'd change that oil and probly pull the thermostat out and take it for another drive...... if it heats up again then you have blockage

i do plan on changing the oil and if there is a blockage well i'll just flush the system and force it out.

I'd sea foam it as well, Pennzoil is horrible IMO.  i have seen numerous cars that where Pennzoil lifers that had a wax-like buildup around the oil fill (I'd hate to see what the internals look like).  Probably wouldn't hurt to pickup an extra quart to flush while your draining

yeah i agree pensoil is the worst oil you can possibly use in a car or any engien for that matter and i am going to use sea foam before i do the oil change. i'm using quakerstate in it right now but i plan on changing oils as it is made by the same company as pensoil. just trying to figure out which oil to use now.

I've used Castrol for every vehicle I've ever owned...no complaints here, my eagle has had it since its first oil change in 1985.
I Don't know why. But everybody's always talking about their STI or That guys EVO, I think I'll stick with my old, but reliable AmC. Did I ever tell you I was Full blooded Eagle?
