Power seat question

(1/3) > >>

shanebo:
Im in the process of buying an orphan Eagle...well, an Eagle corpse anyway. It has no front seats, headliner, dash..etc. Its an 86 sedan. I am almost positive it is/was a d/l model. However when im done with it, she'll be a full out "Limited". I found 2 eagles in a salvage yard in Denver. One is an 82 Limited...it has the seats but no other info was available. I had an 82 limited coupe several years back and the seats were manual.

I really want my new baby to have power seats!!!...its a status symbol LOL 8)

Question is: Were power seats even available in 1982??? And if not what was the first year they were available. Any info would be greatly, greatly appreciated!!! Denver is  several hours away and the salvage yard was very sketchy regarding the specifics on the seats. If it was just up the road it would'nt be a problem, but my truck gets like 9 miles to the gallon (hwy), so it would be somewhat of a spendy trip to have a fruitless outcome.

Thanks Shanebo

The power seats will fit into your eagle if it is an 83 (mine is) at the least, maybe even earlier. The floor has dimples for whichever seats yours didn't come with, just drill through the dimples and bolt it right up. There's a place in Fort Collins that has like six eagles, it's a they pull you pay kinda place, but their prices are pretty good considering they don't let people get out in the yard and butcher things up. I think it's called 4x4 offroad used parts or something. Just look for AMC eagle axle at www.car-part.com and you'll find them.

All years of the 30 series Eagles had a power seat option.  Not found in the SX/4 or Kammback.

I've seen the Eagles in that junkyard.  The interior in the 82 is the cinammon/nutmeg color.  If I remember correctly the front seats are power seats, but not in very good condition.  They would have to be re-covered.  The back seat is in perfect condition.  It is a limited but had very few options - no radio, no air, 5 speed, 258 engine.  The 85 is a blue color, I can't remember if it had power seats or not.  Let me know if you have questions.  I pulled some stuff off the 82 for Tougeagle.

Hmmm. I might just have to go snatch those seats up. I plan on recovering the seats anyway. Thanks for the info!!! Ya know I wouldnt mind having that 5 speed either.
