Part identification

I have no clue what this is, please help. it’s on an 81 258 eagle.

I’ve only seen them on 80 and 81 eagles. there’s a large and small tube running from it, the smaller one is broken off and disconnected, been that way since i got it last year and i would like to know it’s function.

One on the LH side is for HVAC one on right is for  4WD
