Forgive my ignorance, Mavericke, but where exactly is your sanctuary?  Is there more info about it around here somewhere?  It sounds like something I would like to see, but I'd need more info before making an official vote.  Thanks

No Brandon, SouthWestern Illinois.... between Peoria and the Quad Cities (Moline). I do believe there is a write up somewhere... but basically, I've take a couple acres and dedicated it to Eagles and the occasional Jeep. This is a "no crush" zone. I've had people donate vehicles to me because they'd rather me save them than have them crushed or sold to some 16 year old kid that wants to put them in a demo derby. I have a shop that I am dedicating to this cause as well, eventually a paint booth too.

The Sanctuary has only been official for a few months and we've saved two wagons that are currently daily drivers that would have otherwise been crushed.... we had a car hauling semi trailer drop off 5 wagons last month... we've had numerous visitors from the Nest and we've started/finished too many projects to count.

We do lots of body work and frame patching to keep these Eagles on the road because most are rotted out. We've painted, we've done custom fiberglass work and I'm even dabbling in some metal fabrication for hard-to-find parts.

We basically do anything you need that's Eagle related and we do it at an affordable rate (which has mostly been free, but is changing soon because we're going to have to start making enough money to keep it up and running on it's self). I'm not out to be a millionaire off of AMC Eagles, LOL... I mean, a few extra bucks would be cool but my main goal is to save Eagles and help my fellow Nesters.

Brandon.... as for RV hookups... I doubt it, but there is plenty of power out in the barn. It's all ran off of 200amp service with it's own box and everything... we should be able to run drop cords for whomeever needs them. I have several 100-150-200ft drop cords.

Wow, what a hard choice!   I was thinking that "Neither, both places sound boring... Hawaii anyone?" was my first choice, and my second was "I don't care as long as I get free stuff!", but I decided to go with my third choice of meeting at the ENS, and going to Cordova.  Either way, there was no choice on the poll to meet in sunny southern California, so i guess the mid-west will have to do.

Hey man, I could set it all up... for 2011, I plan to take the entire week off and start the festivities very early for whomever wants to take a long vacation! I've got some ideas floating around. It will be a meet that you won't want to miss - I promise. This will be sure to attract other Nesters.

Yeah, I agree man... the last two options work for me as well, LOL! I hope you can make it out this year... get me the freakign information on that otherTurbo Diesel and I'll pay you to haul it out to me on your way to the Meet!!! Yes, I said it - get off your heiney and drive out to wherever it is and check on it for me and get me some contact info before it's crushed! :P

mav, i do know that me and the old man are for sure coming (mainly due to the fact he wants to see the caterpillar museum and compare it to the family's caterpillar museum, we have a 1949 road grader that we are restoring and they have sent reps to the shop at least a dozen times taking pictures and asking questions).  So i am figuring the day before the "official" meet day, we will be in Peoria for dang near a full day.  Although we might be broke for the meet (if they WOW him with a rubber tire loader that is better/more productive than his current 988 Cat)

That's what I'm saying... I'd enjoy it too and I know people that work there... I'm sure I could set something up and make it part of the Meet for the early birds if you guys are down to have some tag-alongs... it'd be fun!

I don't know them well enough for chit-chat, but I know people that would still get us in. And these people are just factory workers ya know? One of them is a wiring guy that works on wiring blueprints all day long.

Ok Mavericke, thanks for the info.  And my thanks to you for the service you do to the Eagle.  I think the Sanctuary should be included in next year's meet for sure, at some point.  I guess my preference would be to meet at your place on say Friday (or earlier for some people?), then plan on Cordova for Saturday.  And if some people can only do one or the other, they may.  I think it would be important for everyone who does go to Cordova to roll in together though, regardless of where we actually meet.  Ultimately the most important part for me would be meeting other members.  ...I guess it was a good idea to start planning early.

Since the date for AMC day at Cordova is already a known, that is one less thing we have to plan.  It is a known, isn't it?
