NO Brakes
« on: July 11, 2023, 10:17:20 AM »
Here's one that I found puzzling. Long back story, but I took my sedan to a shop. Sitting there waiting (THOUGHT) it was gonna be a "quick, easy fix (YEAH, RIGHT!), but that's another tale of woe. While I'm sitting waiting, the manager comes over & tells me that they went to move it so they could pull it in & it didn't have any brakes so they need to do a complete/full brake inspection on it. Whatever, it's been stopping for me. The ENTIRE front brake system (calipers, hoses, pads, & rotors) is NEW (like I'd bet money LESS THAN 1,000 miles). Anyway eventually they come back & what I was told by another shop was a hanger is a complete cat back system. Asked about the brakes, they're okay now. We checked everything & it was all good. Master cylinder was full & functioning, pads good, moving properly. What gives?? I kinda LIKE having brakes! Just makes driving SO much easier!!

They didn't have any more trouble & I haven't had any??? Still waiting to hear what they find on the exhaust for the wagon! Dropped it Thurs. afternoon after picking up the sedan & getting it reinspected (& PASSING) this time. They patched this tube that goes down to the crapalytic converter before (2 - 3 years ago?). It's rusted through in a different spot now & that was ONE thing that made it flunk.
