Post by: Eagle1985 on August 21, 2005, 03:57:50 PM: Here are some recent photos of a 1985 Inaugural Edtion Eagle including views of the unique ID plate mounted on the glove box door, the keyless entry receiver module between the sun visors and the bottom portion of the build sheet.

Yes, the Keyless Entry was the same as in Renaults. At the CT AMO show, (where the Inaugural car was,) I was talking w/ a former AMC Zone Manager, about my new SX-4 w/ Keyless Entry, and he said it was the Renault item.

And besides, when the govt wants a car for the weekend... do you think they have them all specially made to have all the extras and stuff? Idk...

I bet the govt didn't pay a penney, but I wonder who's idea it was... I'd still assume AMC, but seriously - there's no telling. It's just the way it's built to be more of an advertisement than simply a car, ya know? In my experience.... stuff like only happens when someone is really trying to "kiss @--" for a contract - and usually those things are freebies meant to intice.. but again - it's purely speculation on my part.

I suppose that is what I was really curious about, and whether all 50 were used. (I think I saw that 50 were built.)

My 86 is all white and the build sheet lists 9B Olympic White as both the main color and trim color.

Thanks. I owned it for 22 years and got rid of it last year. I traded it to a guy who was going to install a Ford 5.0 and a solid front axle into my 81 but due to life challenges I had to abandon the project. The new owner of the SVO put a huge turbo on it, turned up the boost and threw a rod through the block a few weeks after getting it and then parted it out. >:(

I saw that! There is actually TWO!!! Another one in Colorado that is a WHITEOUT SEDAN! How cool is that, an all white sedan... too far for me tho lol but looks crazy cool!

I stripped about everything of use off that 86...not much there really, metal was rusty and the plastics were very dry rotted and cracked...I was able to get a good headlight trim for Tougeagle off it and I kept some drive train parts but to be honest I think it was someone Else's parts car when I bought it...Its all good though Ginger is in excellent shape and a much more practical and cost effective project...And don't worry, the 86 didn't go to the crusher, its getting turned into mudder/rockcrawler by this guy that lives up here..hes does all kinds of extreme custom 4x4 stuff so I know that car will have an interesting life...he turned a chevette into a small block mudder so I can only imagine what the 86 will get turned into....Ill hafta follow up on it... could make for an interesting topic.

Post by: shanebo on March 09, 2011, 11:09:34 PM: Ive put some serious thought into it...But the problem is I dont want to have to repaint all the door jambs and engine bay...its a lot of work and a whole lot more $$$money. Im just gonna shoot her with a fresh coat of Olympic White...I am seriously considering doing a full white out though to make her look more like the Inogural Eagle in this post...I might even do the bumpers white too....Im still on the fence with that though....Id love to make it an Inogural clone.
