Moab 2019
« on: May 22, 2020, 10:35:55 AM »
Went down for the EJS again. This was by far my favorite year to date. It was the first year that my son was old enough to drive.

So we loaded up the Black Car and his '85 Toyota Pickup and hit the road. People in Moab always ask me if I trailer my car down. This year I told them there was a trailer involved....I towed a camper with car. Not too many people can say they towed a camper 750mi, pulled the hitch, punished their rig on rated 7 trails, put the hitch back on and drove home....with a car.

My son did amazing. We did Metal Masher which is rated a 7 and has a 35" tire minimum requirement to register for the Safari. I did it on 28s he did it on 33s. For his first trip, that's pretty :censored: good! I think he stalled his truck only 2 times the entire trip. I know I stalled at least that many times, maybe 5 times.

Anyways, we ran Metal Masher, Fins-n-Things, 3D, Secret Spire, 7 Mile Rim, Gold Bar Rim and a cool wash called Hidden Canyon I think.

I haven't got too many pics but I did get some video. Here's Metal Masher P1. Mirror Gulch is a technical section that starts about half way in the video.
