Ok guys so I have read the TSM and the other books description on how to do the engine oil pan seal and rear main seal. But I'm going to be converting my 83 sx-4 to stick. Is it any easier to just slip the pan out with the trans removed?
-
I would think so, especially if you're replacing the rear main seal.
-
Altho getting the pan past the oil pump pickup may give you some grief. I haven't tried it myself; just guessing here.

I appreciate the reply gentleman, I guess We will see what happens. :rotfl:

In my experience its just not possible. I have dealt with this before (insert banging head) i hate the whole thing.
First thought axle is in the way
Secind is motor mounts are in tbe way
Third is exaust is possibly not going to let you slide it wherever you need to go.
Fourth is i am drinking and cannot remember anything other than lifting the motor up with a cherry picker to do a rear main. Why i do not know but i am lazy and that is how i did it. Plus beer and rum also helps.

Lmao good deal mudkicker

I try. Also i am not a fan of the whole thing of leave it it in place when i cn lift it . So take that in to account.

Yeah, you either have to lift the engine or drop the front axle, neither is a lot of fun.

I guess I'll lift the engine
