First road trip for Flicker
« on: September 19, 2011, 01:01:05 AM »
The AMCA (Alberta chapter of AMC club) had a BBQ for Sept 17th and we planned to have both the Edmonton and Calgary groups to come.

Dean (also a member of the AMCA) wanted to go up to Edmonton to meet up with Ken and get one (of his many) cars he's bought but not been able to collect.

I showed up at Dean's place at 6:30 am and we gathered up his tools, and got on the road by 7:15.  We stopped in Red deer for fuel and breakfast at A&W (I had two double teen burgers, Dean had one of those egg thingys) then back on the road.

We met up with Ken at the lot - Ken originally saved this car from the Pick n Pull in Edmonton, but I guess Dean bought it from Ken (or some arrangement was made in the save)

So we got up there, checked and topped up the fluids, stuck a battery in her, and it ran.

Then Ken led the way, Dean in the middle, and me watching for any problems we headed to Red Deer for the BBQ.

Got there, pig'd out, then Dean took off early to get the car home, and keep his wife from skinning him alive.

After the food went down, we headed to another member's house, and he's got goodies!  he lives on 70 acres, with several dozen cars (eagles, ambassadors, Americans, Gremlins...) and the like.

Headed home after that.

A Good Egg just went your way.  Thanks.
I'm right 98% of the time, and I don't care about the other 3%.

Thanks.  Dean actually posted the other part of the story with pics.

Here's the 'Dean' part of the story with the rescue of that red 4 door eagle:
