'82 SX4 DL I6/T5 (AR)
« on: September 24, 2013, 07:09:08 PM »

****Sale Pending****
Since I have too many vehicles & not enough time I'll throw this one out there as well.
I am on the fence about selling this one, so not too worried if it doesn't sell...

1982 AMC Eagle SX/4 DL
I6, 5spd,  w/93k mi.
This IS a project car.

Vin verifies that this Eagle came original from factory with the 258 T5.
Original paint was Topaz Gold Poly/Dark Brown poly (2H-OM)
Mopar Magnum 500 rims 14" with beauty rings.
Haven't got to check the 4wd out.

The Bad:
- It has holes in the floorboards that need fixed and has surface rust on the undercarriage.
- It needs all interior, it's there (minus the carpet) but it is mismatched (tan & black) and either needs replaced or painted and/or cleaned up.
- Missing both bumpers, needs a driver side window, flares and bits and pieces here and there.
- Last time I messed with it, it wasn't wanting to go into/out of any gear while running. You could shut the car off and then put it in/out of gear. (think it's the clutch)
- doors sag, like most of the long door Eagles tend to do over time.
- plastic valve cover, like all (of this era) came out with.

The Good:
-T5!!
-PO had it repainted copper & black along with the rims.
-looks like the PO had put in new starter, plug wires & cv's
-PO also replace the clutch reservoir with a bigger 90's Ford reservoir.
-All electrical works, as far as I have tested at least (all exterior lights, dash indicators for brights and turns, wipers & sprayer works).
-Vents do blow air out of them (haven't had the chance to see if heat works and doubt ac works).
-Strong engine.

Hate to sell but I bought it as my project car then ran across the one I really wanted in the first place for sale again and snagged it up before it disappeared yet again. And since then it has been sitting in my carport. Has been sitting since winter 2011-2012.
And recently spent quite a bit of money on my work/commuter car and I was also informed by my daughter that she is almost of age to get her 1st car.

Not really sure what to ask for it.
If it doesn't sell I'll keep it around as a possible future parts car and/or maybe one day I'll get around to it.

Clean Arkansas title in my name.

The lucky buyer will be responsible for inspections that their state requires.

Nice looking project car -- one of my favorite colors.  Have you tried the FB sharing option (top of each page) to post items into FB groups you belong to?  Its an easy way to promote your car (and this site as well).

Thanks. Yeah, it would be a great project for someone. Don't think it'd take a ton of work to get her on the road again. Wouldn't be selling if it wasn't for getting another opportunity at snagging up "the one that got away".
I went to check out the facebook sharing thing, way cool for one. But I have a question... it gave me 4 options on thumbnail pics (3 are of the Den pics and the 1 choice of my car was the floorboard)- is there anyway we could change that up? Not trying to hide the floorboard issue but isn't something I would pick as a promo pic on groups.

Not sure on the image question.  I have not shared anything with more than one picture.   That type of thing is way above my computer skills, which are basically turning the thing on.  Since it redirects folks to your topic in the Den I would pick something that you can live with til they get here to see all the images.

The no-shifting-while-running problem definitely sounds like the clutch is not disengaging.

Would you have anytime to check and see if the TC will shift in/out?

So it starts and goes/stops?  Frame is solid in the typical spots (behind the front wheels)?  Think the tires would be safe to use for awhile?

What is your zip so I can see where you're at on a map?

No problem  :) Haven't switched the ad status to "sold" quite yet due to the final last steps.

Hope you find what you're looking for and good luck  :)

~~ SOLD~~

Tranporter just picked her up and she is on her way to her new home!

I had taken pics of her leaving but my phone is being stupid currently.
But luckily my cousin works at a gas station nearby and sent me this on facebook lol

Good luck with her Luke. Hope you get her up and flying back on the roads again and enjoy her a lot!
Thank you

Woo! Can't wait!  :)
Glad she made it safe and sound. That transporter guy you hired seemed to be a very nice and thorough gentleman. He took much care into making sure she was strapped down well before he left and apparently again at the gas station (per the pic lol he's checking everything out yet again).
