Maybe it would look better with a padded vinyl roof?

Now that's something to think about.

I actually like the landau roof on the two door Concords.  The vinyl on my '81 is of course toast and will be coming off, but I'm afraid of what I might find under there.  Not necessarily in terms of rust, but how the opera window treatment was installed.  I'm pretty sure the two door Concords (at least '80 and up) started with Hornet shaped side windows, and the opera trim was installed over them.  I hope the area wasn't "roughed in" with filler and then covered with vinyl.  :(

For the four door Concord, I must say I really love the no-frills look of my base model with no vinyl or opera windows.  It's like a Hornet with Concord front and rear fascia.

I'm not sure about that but I have heard that that was exactly what AMC did around those windows.

Back on February 18th I finally got underneath the Concord to fix the exhaust. The connection between the manifold and the pipe flange has been leaking since I got the car. After some investigation, I found the previous owner had tried to fix the connection before and put the wrong size nut on one stud and just ran in a bolt on the other side. I bought a stud kit from the parts store (GM stud kit from the "Help" section is the same for an AMC) just in case I had to replace any studs. I had to replace one stud, put the right size nut on the existing stud, replaced the donut gasket, and tightened everything up. I can know hear my radio inside the car. That was the only thing I had left to fix for the car to be inspectable even though I have been driving it with an expired sticker. I drove the Concord to work but before I got there, I stopped by the inspection station and got a new state inspection sticker slapped on the windshield. The Concord is now 100% LEGAL!

We are use to saying a Legal Eagle is a good thing.  But, so is a Legal Concord!

Well, it just doesn't roll off the tongue like "Legal Eagle" but good enough.
