Charity AMX (Hanna)

I'm not totally sure about the whole story, but what I know is, back about - possibly 14 years ago - or more, somewhere (might be Boston) this 1970 AMX was donated for charity for some children's hospital (??)  and it was to be restored and taken around and displayed for income for the hospital.

The car was nicknamed 'Hanna'

Well, it got passed from person to person, and it was supposed to be fixed up, but over the years, some parts were 'borrowed' from the car, and some poor work was done.

The car sat for a long time - several years, and then one of our local AMC club members, Rory got a chance to buy what was left of it.  He spent some time and expense driving from Calgary to Boston, to get Hanna, and what was left of the parts.  He has spent just over 500 hours repairing the unibody and previous damage and rust, and he's hoping to keep the grand total under 1000 hours.   The poor car had suffered two or three minor collisions (not sure, as it had more serious damage to the passenger rear rocker, as well as minor driver's front, and… can't remember the other spot.) but those have been dealt with.

He's had help with it:  The AMC club of Alberta pitched in several times and offered parts,  Craig, a friend who works as a professional bodyman, and his son, who is a welder by trade.   He's also spend some time and money finding and gathering NOS and reproduction parts.

Last I spoke to Rory, he had about 98% of the parts needed.  He's missing a tinted rear side window - Driver's side - and something else I can't remember.

I have posted a few videos of it, and there is a bit of a write-up on the AMC forums site about Hanna.

Rory's efforts and work starts at the top of Page 6.

Here's some of the videos, and Rory has pictures posted starting on page 7

Been seeing your videos about this over the last couple weeks. Was curious what the deal was with it cause I hadn't heard you say much about it. Hope he's finished soon. Should be a sweet ride.

I'm not sure if you've been checking my you tube channel, but there's been a couple of updates on the charity AMX (Hanna):

Right now Rory is in the process of Sandblasting all the parts he has (that are not new, or NOS) and painting them up.  The car is looking really good now.

That would definitely cut down any possible buyers. BBG is one thing
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

I'm not sure about the BB colors, but this was the car's original color.

So, just an update:

The owner went thru a bad divorce, and put Hanna on hold.  He's told me he will be getting back to it in a few short months.  I believe he's got all the ness parts to complete it.
