Well Carver is somewhere in Iowa. I took the Altoona turn off as the GPS said and then it told me to get back on the highway. Must have changed its mind. The heck with it there was an El cheapo Motel 6 right there on the right so I grabbed it. Course had to wend my way thru the truck parking area to find it. Jim, how bad is it to get into the Express parking lot? Goodness knows what the GPS will say ;D I thought you were going to the Comfort Inn? Will try and find the Express and hope they have a room for two nights :-\ arkThe HI Express is somewhat tricky to find. It's a block off Main on a one-block-long street named Washington. Main is closed for construction in the middle of town. The hotel is next to exit 48 off 74. Michigan off Main will take you to Washington.
250 miles to go
340 miles to go.I guess we will see you both soon!
Mavericke you sure are a early riser. Is it truer what they tell me that the sun rises in the east?
You all have a great time.
I'll be on the way in the morning. I have to pick up my Highlander at the dealer in the morning and I'm off from there. The Eagle isn't coming with me unfortunately. Too much to do and not enough time I plan to stay someplace in the Quad cities area. Maybe LeClaire where the American Pickers guys are at. See you all tomorrow!
My car broke down last week and I had to get towed. It was a charging problem and I thought I had it fixed but it showed up again Monday. I dropped off my alternator to get rebuilt Tuesday and since it is a 140 amp unit, they had to order a high amp rectifier. It came in today and I picked up the alternator. Car is running again and packed. (http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v637/svoman2300/Smilies/safari-rig.gif) I'll be leaving in the morning and it's supposedly a 10 hour drive for me. So I'll be there 4ish. I brought my tent hoping to save a few beans, but the weather report calls for rain and I may have to get a motel if the weather is too bad. I was worried about the days of work I would miss but the boss said it is slow for a couple days and then we will be busy. So I will be able to work an extra couple days to make up for the lost time. :hello2:
Still there. He is getting his carb GRONKified, so that should fix it.
How's Jims "hard starting when hot" issue?
I'm home and exhausted. Taking a shower and going to bed.Glad you made it home safely. We decided we had enough and stopped for the night. We could have made it all the way but I have another day off work so we decided to stop.
.
I bet Rich gets to California before I get back to the hill country
You better buy a squeegee cuz everyone who see your new car is going to be drooling all over it ;D |Besides you don't think your fiancee will let you have the keys do you? My bet is on it becoming hers :) Nice girl you have there, don't let her get away.
congrats on finally getting you an Eagle dude.
Your Eagle won best Eagle class 33. The Hornet won Best Wagon out of all the classes.
Eaglefreek! I loved that Hornet Sportaround too. What a neat little car. I was under the impression that the new to me Eagle won the Best Wagon trophy... Did TQ win best in show?
They are entitled to their erroneous opinion. ;D
I'll be very happy to make it to 5040.
It'll be about 1300 miles for us.
At least it'll be downhill coming back!
I GPS'd my elevation at the house 5040ft. 4600ft in town.
I'm going to check on a long distance awards, other people seem to recall NAMDRA use to have a long distance award. As a drivers club we should. I'm in the middle of the picture in the lite colored NAMDRA t-shirt. LRDaum "mramc"I put the wrong name for you in the group photo. I changed it, it should be correct now....Rich
OK, I checked with the Jock Jocowicz , president of NAMDRA, long distance is not suppose to get a trophy, but is suppose to a check for $50. I've made Jock aware that Rick Ingram came from Hesperia, California to Cordova and registered for the meet with his Eagle SW , so assuming no one else came from a longer distance driving an AMC to the meet , and that's about 4500 miles or so round trip. I'll remind Jock in about a week or so, we just starting to look at this stuff and check every thing out. Jim , I hope we have your full address. LRDaumActually, my mileage for the entire entire trip was 14 miles short of 5,600. I went to Ohio before coming to Cordova. I would have gladly accepted the award (even if just a trophy), but $ is even better! Thanks, Rich
Lets start on the westerners to get them planning to come ;DYou don't need to work very hard to get me to come.

Haha, that's cool!Who knows, I may just make the trip next year to the AMC Nationals if the dates don't conflict with other plans.
