This is an old pic of my 83 Wagon entombed in the snow. This was in November, by the time May was here it was under 15 feet of snow and was completely burried. It took 3 pulls with a 4WD Dodge 3500 Diesel dually and out she came. After she came out there was an imprint of the car in the snow on 3 sides and it shredded the rear tires.

Very cool. I've seen a few vehicles buried like that before. Not in my area, but in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Where was this located?
-
Your profile doesn't have your location, so give us a hint where this was.
Something tells me it wasn't in my neck of the woods, or Trapperjack's either.
-
Nope, the only things shredding tires around here are rocks or mesquite thorns. That picture is about 12 years of snow here.
-
Not like anything I have seen around here.
-
Forgot to post the location. The pic was taken in Leadville, Colorado. By the time it was over the snow was level with the garage roof.
-
That's a lot of snow. Do you clear the roofs of your buildings withthat kind of snowfall? I'm not sure how I'd even attempt such a thing.
-
Snow ???
-
We get snow here. We got 10" just last - uh - January 27, 2000.
We've even had 1 or 2" on rare occasions since then.
Gil thought snow meant he had poor TV reception.
-
I thought it was that the beer barrel burst trowing foam all over the place
-

Most of the time you'll hear a sound like thunder or a freight train then whoosh the driveway is blocked! At work we used 12guage LTL flash bang rounds to clear cornices in areas of high pedestrian traffic. The resorts use mortars and recycled Navy guns to clear the mountains first thing in the morning. It really is something to wake up to!

Nice Sean! We feel your pain. The lump on the left was our subaru. :o

LOL, my 2nd winter in Colorado, 2002. The 4 vehicles are 88 GW, 77 Wagoneer, 88 Subaru and 91 Ford F150. The canine is Butterscotch the Spazzmutt (golden retriever) When the snow got too deep for the Subaru, the Jeeps got put to use.

winter is closing in!

No snow yet in lower Michigan. We hit kind of an indian summer or something.
-
Sure dose look like we are going to have cold winter last week we had a day with the temperature get all the way down there to 40 at night.
-
Us, too. We had a night already this season when it got down to 38.
-
Winter is on us! -10 this morning and -13 yesterday.

We got hit pretty hard in the norther WI/UP of mich area. We went from bare ground to a foot of snow in 24hrs with huge gusts of wind up to 70mph I believe. Anyway, got the Eagle out before the plows were out and did some drift busting. It easily handled the 2 foot plus powder drifts, I'm pretty amazed at how well the car goes through the deep snow with such little ground clearance. The key was that it was all powder though. Here are the only pics I managed to get.

yeah, MI got it good too!
Here is where I park at work. We had about 2 feet between Monday morning and Wednesday morning. -6 this morning and the 4oh started and ran fine!

Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
-
I see you get the same two stress dimples I get on my hood when temps change.
-
Snow ???
Wait, you mean to tell me there's places that DON'T get snow eight months out of the year? ???
Yes! here in rust free Southern California!
-
Picture above - beautiful adept for Eagle of the month. Nice scenery.
-
I see you get the same two stress dimples I get on my hood when temps change.
Those dimples don't go away regardless of how cold or hot it is... :'(
8) This is about as deep as I let it get on and around the Eagle this winter:
-
"This is about as deep as I let it get on and around the Eagle this winter"
I see why. Much deeper and you would need a metal detector to find it.
At least a metal detector would find it. I'm not sure one would find some of these new plastic vehicles.
-
LOL! 8)
That 4.0 started right up, no problem on a few mornings when it was minus teens. Might just keep it. ;D
We had snow the last 2 days. Flurries, fat flakes and wind but no more than an inch or two of accumulation at one time. Some frosted roads up in Mesa Verde this morning. I got to run the new tires in 4wd. Much better! WOOT!

Yes, that's the hood of my Spirit that is slowing hatching into an Eagle. It made it to my cabin and back through snow that stopped my Comanche from gaining access!

Hahaha love that picture!!

People name their pets. What's this one's name? It'll look good riding in your Eagle with it's head out the window.
-
I know it's not much, but it's a start. I wonder if we'll get any big snows this year in MO.
Luckily the city didn't freak out this morning and they didn't throw any salt on the roads.
-
Nice Rafe! I am jealous of the snow. Rest assured though, they have it in our forecast for Michigan soon enough.
-
Didn't you guys get some snow a couple weeks ago? My sister lives in East Lancing...I thought they had a decent amount not long ago..
-
Not where I am in Grand Rapids. Just a trace amount that was gone before noon. Looked more like frost than anything.
-
We had something crazy like 30" of snow here in Anchorage in November. It was also one of the coldest Novembers as well we has a couple weeks that stayed in the single digits. The last week and a half has been high 30s with Rain... so I will go with the "Got Ice?" right now. It is slick out.
-
Luckily the city didn't freak out this morning and they didn't throw any salt on the roads.
I can feel my cars rotting once the late fall comes.
They pour salt on like crazy

Nothing too serious, about 8" blanketing Pepe to keep him warm. I like the special effects of the flakes flying by :rotfl:

Sweet! Getting quite a bit there!
-
Just about nothing here, 2/3 of the ground is bare, very unusual for Saskatoon Saskatchewan this late into winter. Supposed to be about +45 F here on Christimas. -40 would be much more normal.
-
Ground is covered here in Southern Alberta.....but very unusual for this time of year as well :)
Should be blowing, colder (-25) and lots of snow :(
Kind of like it! In the pluses all week and looks like Christmas is gonna be warm but still have a white blanket down :). That is the kind of Christmas our family likes
-
Got some snow fall today here in Anchorage. It is welcome because the warming trend and the ice buildup was getting to be a little too much. The Wagon is a champ so never an issue in snow or ice.
-
I got about 14" last night here in Divide CO....were at about 10,000 feet so its a pretty common sight unfortunatly.
-
We've got nothing, about 10C/50F here. Please send us some...
-
Looks like Seattle is going to stay above freezing for the rest of the year.
-
Same here, the Eagle is waiting, switch set to 4WD.
-
So far we've got about 10+" of snow today in my part of Denver, other areas have gotten more. Pepe had no problems with the snow, I was even driving along the edges of the residential streets to play in the deeper stuff - didn't slow Pepe down one bit!

You have a good memory. Pepe is my little Kammback, and that's where the name comes from, the Lil' Mule in Romancing the Stone. Awesome scene as he's driving away from the other bad guys in Pepe. Who knew the drug dealer like romance novels!
-
Yall enjoy yer snow, we're finally gittin some rain. :blob1:
-
Good lord did we have snow today. I left the Eagle at home and drove around in my Super Duty today... I must say the Eagle is a better snow vehicle than the Big Ford Diesel.
-

This was a pretty long drawn out snowfall so by now most of the streets have been trampled down. Here is a picture of Pepe last night after sitting for about 3 hours.

beginning of Feb. here in NY , and nothing on the ground. We have got a couple of little snowfalls , but my snowblower hasn't had to run all winter so far.Even the shovel sits dormant because it tends to warm up and melt the day after the snow.

I wish that was the case for me. It sounds like Alaska got enough winter for everyone this year. Record snow fall and record cold temperatures. My snow blower took a dump on me and I have broken 2 snow shovels this year. At least its almost over... kind of :)
-
I'm surprised we still havn't got a huge dumping yet.. I've been waiting, although I don't have any winter toy's anymore.. so I'm sad about no snow.
-
It ain't over here in Seattle till Tax day!
-
No snow, but freezing my rear end off: 12F @ night.
-
We have been light on snow this winter. Recently, there has been two over nighters that brought 6-7" but it melts fast with many sunny days reaching 50. We had lots of fog with some snow on Tuesday on my way to work.

I'm up in the northwest corner of Minnesota, and we haven't had nearly the usual amount of snowfall. Heck, we even had a brown Christmas. Unless we get dumped on in the next couple of months, it may be a record low for snowfall. Definitely the least I've ever seen. ???
-
So here's the Eagle and the Pacer in the first snow we had in December.

We have some sleet right now, the expected temps are well above freezing point, so none of it will stay long.

I guess pretty soon it will be time to put this post back in the attic untill next winter.
