Title: Head Gasket
Post by: pfay82 on April 08, 2018, 08:18:15 PM
Hi everyone! I'm replacing my head gasket and am having trouble putting the head back on the block. I just can't get the gasket to stay put, and am having a horrible time getting everything lined up enough to drop the head bolts back in. Even if something is off by a fraction of a millimeter, it won't work. Any suggestions? :banghead:

I can say i never had such a problem. It should be straight forward.

If you are replacing your head bolts you can cut the head off two of the old ones , hacksaw a slot in the top for a screw driver and screw them into the block (finger tight) ,drop your gasket on then set the head down ( using the bolts as guides) . Use a screw driver to get the bolts back out. After you started a couple head bolts in to hold it in place.
