Title: Help with water leak
Post by: 4hammond on January 07, 2014, 12:55:04 PM
I am getting a puddle of water in the passenger side rear floorboard right where you put your feet. When the car sits in the rain for a bit I end up with just that area wet. The door wheater stripping all looks good. Anyone have any ideas of where to start looking.

Windshield. Or possibly one of the holes in the firewall that lets things into the cabin from the engine bay.

A couple more:

1. If you have a roof rack, check the rubber nutsert on the right front rail mount.

2. The plug where the antenna wire goes through the firewall (open the rf door and look for it under the fender).

Both were a leak issue on my waggie.

This was my problem.  The drain for the cowl empties right above the antenna wire.  During a particular rainy period I ended up with about an inch and a half of water in the passenger foot well.

My foam around the heater box was missing when I reinstalled it. Rainwater runs down the firewall and in around the fan motor. I made a shield that directs the water away from the lip.
