With nearly 500 members we should have a whole lot more than 40 members posting pictures of their cars. Anyway, we will soon be needing more ROTM candidates in the upcoming months for the 2007 calendar so lets start getting some more pictures here. Maybe think about doing some snow pictures too.
-
I'll be outfitting mine with some racks, off road gear, and a canoe that I'm buying this weekend, and will send pics of my summer adventures that are already in the planning phase. I'd love to see everyone else's pics too, I can look at eagles for days.
-
We have quite a few here. But more is better.
-
We would like to have at leat one picture of each members AMC Eagle no matter how it looks or the condition of it.
It all be nice if you would place a picture of your self in the members pictures so we can have a face to go along with the friend.
-
There'll be no shortage of snow scenery in my pictures.
I have almost a GB of documentitive photography on my eagle already.
It'll all be posted on my site http://eatuniverse.net soon enough.
Some are already there under the AcidFree Media.
-
I need to get on finishing up posting the progress on the old Eagle. I posted pictures of the engine bay empty; engine being painted and the engine in without hoses. I also need to find the camera and get pictures of the repaired fender. I wish I could find the $%^&* camera.
I will try to post more this weekend, but my sister is back from a semester spent touring Africa, so I doubt I will get to it this weekend.
-
Check in and around your car ;D
-
I will
-
im still tryin to find mine..... :'(
-
I got some up last nite...more to follow.....
-
I just sent some to IE, he said he'd post'em for me. Thanks IE!
-
Thanks. I will get them on for you tonight.
-
Today I was active in my fired eagle. Now I've make pictures with my camera. I will take them in the forum later. Thats interesting nice pictures!
-
Help, I'm trying to send some pics to the your eagle forum.....uggg....
I got the account, copied the third url and pasted to the message.
When I do a preview I get red X in the square and the message Photo
Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket. Is this what's supposed to
happen and the pics will be seen, or did I do something wrong.
Thanks for you help,
Pete
-
No you did nothing wrong. They have updated the site since that one was written. Its now the 4th choice. The one that starts out [IMG]
-
OK Thanks, I'll switch the HTML ones for the IMG ones and

My sx4 with Eddie's wagon We were checking the difference between the 82 wagon and 83 sx4
-
I think I saw somewhere on the forum that there is no difference from the A pillar forward. 2 door models have wider doors. Are the front interiors the same?
The side marker lights look different.
-
The hood is different and the chrome above the grille is different. I think the side markers are the same. The dash looked the same except he has ac and it works. I would rather have an 82 hood on my 83 I like the hood ornament.
-
I have 83 and 88 wagons. I like the 83 with the ornament better than the 88 with the power bulge.
I scavenged an ornament and center trim piece from a salvage yard and had thought about putting it on the 88, but the 83 has lost the logo on one side, so I guess it will go on there.
-
Samo - Samo. Hoods were different 'til '84 when the series 30 Eagles adopted the Power Bulge hood formerly used on the 50 series cars and Sport models. The interior door panels differed a bit between models. Small body doors were the same from 1970 to 1988 as were windshields and other components, both body and mechanical. But, yes the 2 door versions were longer. On the SX/4/Spirit Hatchback AMC just repositioned the standard window frame to fit the roof slope.
-
lets try this not a good one but the only one I know of with my doors painted white (http://www.mopar alley.org/gallery/album 14/dscf1601_small)
-
Well I guess it did not work

gopac,
Decent Eagle you have there, good luck with it.

That is a nice professional looking place to work, and professional looking work taking place. I trust the wasps had vacated the premises before you invaded their territory.
-
Nice bike, looks kinda familiar too me ::)

Thanks , it was a storage for tractors, and just getting my stuff moved into it.and,LOL,yes I was lucky it is winter and the w3asps have long left.I can't belive where I am finding wasp nests , and those mud dauber tubes..... no gold or money though :(
-
Nice bike, looks kinda familiar too me ::)
Yupp that would be the great pumpkin! Threw that pic in there thinking you might spot it.Did ya catch my AMX lurking in the shadows?? :)
-
Yes, hiding behind the gas bottle?
-
Yeah that would be it,and thats my tempoary heat, the propane salamander @ 35,000 btu. . Lasts a couple 8 hour days.I have to let the car down off the jacks and see how that black rim looks on it.They actually came from an old 82 dodge van I had, then they fit on my Camry for awhile, and they bolt on the Eagle too.
Started it up last night ,got all the lines hooked back up and the Vcover done, sounds pretty good and smooth. It had some kind of leak in it's life, and going to have to spray it all clean and look for it.Might be oil pan, or main seal....allthough the PCV valve line was broke and taped up,along with the bad Vcover gasket, who knows.Got to finish up the brake work, maybe today.
Going to try and get plates this week so I can drive it a bit and look for other issues.

Here's a question that I guess would be a matter of opinion. What about taking off those rubber side moulding strips?I think it would look cleaner, but wondering if that adhesive and glue would come off.
-
do you mean the door bump protector thingys.
Yeah there are 2, one wider one and a skinny one.Reason is , they are starting to come off in several areas and sagging.Thought it might clean up the lines abit if they were gone.Didn't look re-gluable??
-
They can be reattached if you want to.
-
IowaEagle - if he pulls off
do you mean the door bump protector thingys.
can I use them as my bumperette?
-
I think they are different critters. Not that you can't glue anything on if you wanted to. Miight look kind of snazzy. IIRC you are talking about the rubber strips on your bumpers?
-

OK gotta ask what does IIRC mean?
-
IIRC = If I Remember Correctly. Important sentence preface for those of us who have CRS from time to time.
-
CRS = Can't Remember "Squat". Sometimes another word that starts with "S" is substituted.
-
Some pics for you (http://huntersmoonmotel.com/eaglenestpics/Spirit.html), old and new....
-
Nice presentation. That is quite the collection. How did you get them to present in that fashion?
-
Thank you. ;D
Not sure exactly what you asked though.
Its about eight years worth of pics. Tim's wagon isn't in there yet, and I can't seem to find any pics of my blue wagon with wood grain sides anywhere. So there are at least two missing, not to mention Tommy's lifted Grand Wagoneer Sport. He had 38 inch mudders and a 360 four barrel. That thing was sick.
-
So you replaced the Sun tach with an OE one? Kind of nifty how that sun tach was done. OE looks better but with so few working OE ones that was not a bad alternative.
-
Nope yer backwards. The current pics are first and the ones as I bought it are the second set.
I put the Sun tach in cause the factory was shot. I was hoping to get it working but when I pulled it, it kinda fell apart.
Kind of nifty how that sun tach was done. OE looks better but with so few working OE ones that was not a bad alternative.
Thank you, I thought it looked pretty good myself. I hate column or dash mounted tach. If you can't go hood mount or dash mount you don't need it that bad. The Sun mini tach faits in the dash like a glove. All I did was take a piece of thin 1/4" plywood (luan) and cut it so that it was presure fit in the hole. Cut out the center for the Tach and painted it flat black. If I want to remove it it just 'pops' out. Not drilling no glue, no dmagae to the factory parts. Just the way I like it.
Since the four console gauges were defunct as well I did the same thing there. Painted a piece of luan after trimming it to fit and cut out the triple gauge holes. I think I used the factory retaining stuff to hold that one in place. Can't remember exactly what I did there, I remember screws or nuts being involved though.
After I hooked them all up and tied them into the dash dimmer it was like new. ;D
I like guages that don't interfere with the factory. What I mean by that is I don't like drilling or screwing anything into my dash, ever. So I try and fit stuff where ever I can without damaging anything. You never know, some day my car might be in a bone yard somewhere and somebody may need a factory condition dash to restore a car. I've passed up parts so many times because somebody felt the need to bolt something to a dash board or cut a radio hole to shreds. I'll pull air vents out to mount guages if I have to. I can live with just a defroster and floor heat....
-
I agree, I don't like new holes in the dash or elsewhere. Good Job!
-
(http://www.metzendorf.biz/photos/eagle/0077.JPG)
my best faux press kit picture.
-
Looks good to me. That is a novel way to display your Eagle. Just plug it into the appropriate brochure for your year.
-
I like that faux. How did you do that?
-
it's just a wee touch of photoshop!
i took the picture on a nikon D50 with a 50mm lens at about 40 yards. there was some really nice early morning light that day. i cropped, clone tooled out the quarry's equipment across the street and added a .gif amc logo from the web with a drop shadow. warmed up the colors a bit the way the amc graphic design folks would have in the early 80's.
here's the original for reference:
-
I like that picture. I have nominated it for the calendar, but I do not know how to get your faux picture to the "October Nomination" topic.
-
Right click on the image. Choose properties. Highlight and copy the location url. Then go to the topic you want to post in. type in the first img tag then paste the url in and then type in the other img tag. make sure to include the "/" after img and don't forget the brackets.

Maybe by fall.
Granted I have 2 Eagles, but one, the previous owner used spray paint to change the blue interior to black and 2, the previous owner thought a 14 gauge wire would work as a battery cable. I have a lot of damage control to do.
As of yet, I'm just too embarrassed to post a photo. That, and I shall have to figure out how to post a photo. The burned up 14 ga wire is worth a picture.

Pictures have to be posted here from a host site. Most people on here
use www.photobucket.com.
It's free.
Then -
In your Photobucket account, hover over the picture. This brings up a menu.
Put a check in the box next to img_xx, immediately under the picture or pictures.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on
Generate HTML and IMG code.
Click in the third box down from the top. This will select everything in the box.
Right click and select Copy. I don’t know for sure this is necessary;
selecting it may copy it but not being sure I always Copy.
Go to your thread, right click and paste.
Click on Preview, and if satisfied click on Post.
-
I like it a lot
-
Hi, it's my first post. Here's the eagle I picked up this winter. It's pretty on the outside but I've got some work to do under the hood. No significant rust, even though it lived in PA it's whole life, but a lot of the stuff up front needs work. I had to install a radiator to get it home and learned on the drive the heater core was putting coolant vapors all over my windshield. The engine bogs going uphills and the exhaust is noisy, but it's what I've wanted and I ain't gonna give up on her.

Here's a pic of my old 80 wagon. I miss it... :'(
(http://i223.photobucket.com/albums/dd101/imacarfan2/80Eaglewagon-vi.jpg)
Wagon looks great. Why aren't there tire tracks in the snow behind the tires? If it snowed since it was parked there, why is there snow under the car but none on top of it? Just wondering.
-
I'd like to post some pics of my Eagle but is there any way around using photobucket to do it? I don't feel like signing up for any more web accounts.
-
Give minus.com (http://minus.com) a try. You can use it without registering but I think the pictures expire and get deleted after a certain amount of time. I registered and I have yet to get any emails from them.
-
I use imgur.com, have for a long time.
You don't need an account to upload pictures and create albums, but I suggest making one anyway, it's easier to keep track of your stuff that way.
