GVW value question
« on: November 11, 2011, 09:03:56 PM »
I am working to get my 1982 wagon with a 6 cylinder manual transmission back on the road and the registry wants to know what the total gross weight (Laden) is for my car. The drivers door is a replacement and there are no tags with this information.

I searched a fair bit and have not found the number on the web.

It is not in the TSM, the owners manual, the service guide that I can find. Can someone with a 6 cylinder wagon auto or manual look on their drivers door and let me know what the GVW is. I do think it matters much what the year is.

Thanks!

Just so you'll know I tried - the numbers are completely gone from both my wagons.
I'm right 98% of the time, and I don't care about the other 3%.

I can check on my parts car tomorrow.  I looked on Virginia and the number is unreadable other than it looks like there's an 8 in it.  The parts car led a much more sheltered existence so I think it'll still be legible.  It's just all the way up the trail in the woods and i'm generally lazy after 4:30 on friday so it's not happening tonight.
