Bulkhead connector
« on: September 05, 2021, 11:31:04 AM »
Well I've hit a bit of a roadblock in my stroker build. The wiring harness I was going to use for it has a different bulkhead connector than the one that was in Eagle Eyes to begin with. It is supposedly out of an 84 Eagle but I'm starting to have my doubts on that. My problem is that I really don't want to destroy an unmolested harness to put my stroker in, so I was wondering if anyone might know of a place that sells one that matches mine or can build me a custom one. If it helps it is the same as the ones used in 76 to 80 CJ7's.

I have never looked into this idea, would it be possible to use your old bulkhead connector. Remove all the wires and install the necessary ones for your swap into the correct pin location?

It's probably possible but as I said it's a completely unmolested wiring harness that has never been cut into spliced into or messed with in any way and I really don't want to mess it up and would rather destroy one that's already messed up rather than the good one I already have as I would like to try to sell it to somebody who is trying to make their eagle more complete and original or are trying to make their eagles computer system a little simpler.

Are you converting to the Jeep fuel injection system or keeping the carb?  I have a harness that I bought that it is compatible with the Jeep FI system that I am never going to use.  I thought I had read that there isn’t a lot of cutting and splicing required to make it work with an Eagle’s wiring.

I did a quick search online and wiring harnesses for CJs are available but you probably won’t like the $800-900 price tag.

Yeah I'm converting to the fuel injection system and I've seen the ones online from painless wiring and all of the bulkhead connectors in the pictures look like the one on the harness that I can't do anything with, I may have to call them to see if they are indeed the same but you are correct that I don't like their price tag. Now I do have the wiring harness for a 93 manual XJ but it's connector is way more different than either of them.
