Post Your Custom Interiors!
« on: October 11, 2020, 03:08:17 PM »
To the great Ladies and Gentlemen of the Nest,

Please use this thread to display your custom interiors. It is my hope that this thread can document our work and inspire us for our future interior upgrades. Feel free to post gauge clusters, transfer case shifters (For conversions), carpeting, seats, lights, special doodads and the like!

I would proudly post my own, but I have no unique customization as of yet.

Toyota Matrix / Pontiac Vibe I closed out the park brake handle area with some fiber glass and painted it black with some by all paint there are two different lids for this depending on the vehicle you get it from one is taller then the other by about two inches. The one pictured is the tall one but I swapped it out for the short one from my wife’s matrix

Custom bracketing to mount a satellite radio controller below the cluster, accessory platforms in the trunk to support said satellite radio, GPS tracking and a 10-disc CD changer discretely, custom framing for the center console (because look, no tray package!) and carphone cradle support and because we are not done with discrete interior accessories, a fused full-time/part-time powered accessory plug for additional removable devices, such as a working taximeter.

The most amazing thing to me about your pictures is that your stock console gauges seem to be working!  What gods did you have to sacrifice to to make that happen?!?

The exposed copper on the flexible circuit ribbon tarnishes with age. None of my indicators worked initially but visually had no signs of corrosion or loose fit. You have to remove the brass nuts and burnish everything.

I had an overhead console from a mid to late 90's Grand Cherokee installed in my Kammback.  It was done at the same time that I was having the headliner replaced so the upholstery guy was able to recover it in the same fabric as the headliner and he was able to shave the console to fit the contour of the roof so it looks like it was made for the car.

I had a Gremlin/Spirit Sport steering wheel recovered in leather, and painted the horn button to match.

Vangremlin, that overhead console is legit!

I may have to steal that idea from you!

I built a custom center console with armrest for my SX/4. It has a cup holder, volume control for my bluetooth amp, and a dual usb fast charger with a toggle switch. Also mounted my aftermarket power window switches to it.
