Steering stabilizer replacement-Am I missing pieces?
« on: March 20, 2011, 05:45:33 PM »
I got my replacement steering stabilizer and it looks like there should be two extra bushings on the passenger side.  Too much space there when the stabilizer is in place...looks like it will just wobble around in there.

Or do I just need to install it and tighten everything up?

The TSM nor the parts catalog show any extra bushings besides what the stabilizer has already installed.

that's what I thought, but it doesn't slide into the space snugly.  The bushings don't make contact with the mounts.  When I bolted it up, it snugged at the top, but not at the bottom.  Seems like I need some kind of extra spacer in there, or maybe this just isn;t the right part, regardless of what the parts counter says?

It wouldn't be the first time someone got a part that was not for our cars.

RockAuto says Monroe SC2928 or Moog SSD56.
Fits the Eagles and assorted Jeeps from 1984-2006.

i was given the same incorrect part from three different parts places. finally found the right one at oreilys. maybe that is the problem you are having.
