They had to do something with the pickup tubes or something, but we're able to reuse the sending unit from the tank I got from Eric.

Sounds like they've almost got it all worked out. They have driven it in and out of the shop. Said reverse and first gear are working fine and the brakes seem to be working as well. They also did the ECM Test bypass and get this, the mechanic found the old video I made from when I did the ECM Test on TQ and used that to do it on Penny! Thought that was funny!

I had no Idea it had louvers! this is honestly my favorite sx4.  It's not boring old red or black. It's such a nice color, and it looks good inside and out.

It's supposedly at the exhaust shop. I sure hope that means it's almost finished!

Not a text you wanna get from your mechanic when you are like 1 day away from picking up the car at the shop. "Bad news this motor has issues"

After I just gave them $1500 last weekend. I wanna punch something!!

So they've had it running several times before and said it never made any sounds, but they were having issues keeping it running after it warmed up. So I told them I had a spare ICM and Ignition Coil in the car and they swapped them out today. Now it's running fine and stays running after it warms up, but it's apparently developed an upper end tick/knock. They think it could be a rod knock. I asked them if it wasn't just a timing issue and they said it's set to the right timing. Could be a lifter just not functioning correcting. I was hoping to drive this thing home this weekend and now it looks like I could possibly need another engine! Uhg! Any ideas what could be causing this that wouldn't take pulling the engine out and apart to fix?

Man that sucks.  I was hoping to see a post about driving her home.  If you need a new one, and things go according to plan, im grabbing the parts eagle downstate, and (though I have no idea how you'd get it) I wouldn't need the engine.  Hope you cN figure it out.

They swapped out the oil and put Lucas Oil in it this morning and after doing that the noise was still there. Then the oil dumby light came on and they shut the engine off.

That sucks. Did they put a mechanical gauge on it to verify low oil pressure? Sounds like the oil pump might have went bad. Have you heard the sound? Mine has made a ticking sound for thousands of miles. Also, I thought I had a rod knock and it turned out to be one of the torque converter bolts hitting the transmission inspection plate.

The oil light came on and they shut the engine off so they didn't have a chance to check oil pressure. Before swapping out the new ignition coil and ICM they put a mechanical gauge on it and it showed 30psi or lbs or whatever the measurement is. But then after the install of the new components the noise started and the light came on.

I'm shocked and so sorry to read about your motor.  What a let down after waiting so long and being so close.  :banghead:  Couldn't happen to a nicer guy.  I'm pulling for you, Prafeston. I hope it's not too major and Penny's up and running soon!
