Title: 715's 82 concord wagon
Post by: mudkicker715 on August 30, 2011, 07:37:14 PM
This was donated to me. I however am supposed to fix/pretty her up. After that idk do I want it. She starts and runs like a champ. Coswmetically well you decide. Haven't even washed it yet. It has a leather rear seat that matches the car interior. Front seat is a bench seat that atleast on drivers side, it feels like i' sitting on the floo4r. Also its cream colored. Needs a headliner and some other fixes.it comes with new tires. The roof rack is all custom made. Anyway that's about all I know right now. Besides me reolacing the rear lazy springs that came with the car. Heavy duty type.

Looks like you got yourself a project. Concords make great drivers. How is the underbody? The outer body looks good. Interior should not be too hard to find if you can change the whole thing. Roof rack looks like it may be stock early one with homemade cross peices.

Underbody suprisingly looks good. Carpet is new. Front replacement seat is shot.

Sorry its not a green like some of us here like. But a couple years back marv the guy this came from had some kind of major work done to the motor. Not sure what. Will talk to him Friday. Otherwise the wash bucket turned orange. The sponge black. Wish I woulda taken a before pic of how lazy her rear was. Now with the new springs sits decent. I wish he woulda painted his parts a respectable color. As shag said love them freebees.

A 1982 model wouldn't have a metal valve cover, so at the very least, the valve cover has been replaced with one from a 1980 or older engine.

Those oval side mirrors also came from a 1980 or older car.  A 1982 Concord should have the rectangular ones.

The car looks to be in pretty good condition overall.

I like it! Man, I wish I could find a Concord wagon. I like wagons and I like Concords. Personally, I'd drop a 360 into it, but that's just me. ;D

Also incorrectly has a din radio. The surround for that radio has a rear defrost and wiper, that I don't have.

Nothing pic worthy to update.
I got the amc din to work haha. It only had one speaker working. All mis wired. Iam puttong 6x9 in the back. Oh and one speaker pass side was kapoot. Fixed a inner door handle that wouldn't return.

Daxx p71 ford kept me busy today. Chasing a unfindable brake leak. Than I found it fricking gusher.

Drove her while ill ............. eagally today. Performed wellish. Stomp I mean stomp she downshifts. Really.     No hesitatation just blah. I have driven this cqar before and think she needs a wake up call. It was better.  Drive is a touchy spot. I feel the kickdown is out of whack. She performed motor wise as nos. I do not axle ratio yet.

Insight or opinions welcome

Time to blow fresh air into this monkey.

The other day my brakes became nearly nonexistant. And out here we are borrowing tempertare from a future date than add the wind. My heated garage is inaccessable dam nit.  anyway master is full brakes are on floor, but they stop the car it appears i can lock up the rear unnecessarilly. Pumping the brakes does not change this pedal at all. I hear nothing out of the ordinary opinions please as its so dam n cold i don't want to even get wood to reload the fire. Haha

Master cylinder was replaced and the same thing with no front brakes.

i was able to force fluid back to the master cylinder. but i could not get it to go back to the calipers. replaced both of the calipers and i now have brakes. it also was above freezing so maybe somthing was obstructing flow in the distribution/proportioning block. the passenger side before it warmed up would not gravity drain.

so basically pixie dust and wooden shoes were found around the problem

Recently my rear outer axle bearing turned to dust. I have a spare but  to get the hub off i had to torch the h e l l  out of it. Anyway what is the part number for the outer bearing seal. I most likely have it sitting around. Just  being lazy. So if someone has it that would be awesome. Saves me time as work is getting what time i can give.
