Good to see it go to such a good home. Too bad you couldn't have finished the project, but maybe one day you will be able to see it finished. Good work Rich, for saving this project.

I finally got some time to start putting the Eagle back together.  This is what I got done so far:  Installed new door rubber on all 4 doors, installed all 4 door handles, strikes, and the 2 locks.  I installed the dash and air ducts (behind dash face).  The next time I work on it I will try to get some photos.  Jobs for next time:  Install the 4 windows and motors, install the gauge cluster and heater / A/C controls, Glove box, and maybe get the seats mounted in.  The driver seat is electric, which was not originally in the car.  I will need to run power to it before bolting it down.  Once I get the windows in, I will have a new front windshield installed, and also the new back glass that came with the car.  I then will be able to move it from my Father-in-Law's garage, and keep it outside (he wants his garage space back).  I hope to have it ready long before the Rambler Ranch/Eagle Motel trip.  Stay tuned.......Rich

I got some time this evening to work on the car again.  I managed to get all 4 windows in, and also installed the new window channel.  Sorry, I forgot to bring my camera again.  I will try to post some photos next time.  I think the next order of business is to get the instrument cluster installed.  I definitely want photos of that.  I hope to get more time this week.  Stay tuned.....Rich

I hit a roadblock, and also got some photos.   I have no idea how the window switch wiring is hooked up.  Anyone have any ideas?

Also the instrument cluster will not go all the way in, I can't figure out why:

Anyone know what this hole is for?

I got the dash in and other related items:

New door weatherstrip and window channel:

I assume these are for the radio?

I am going to try to get in touch with the guy I got the car from and see if he will come over and help me put the car back together.  I want to bring it on the Eagle Motel trip......Rich

the hole is for the fresh air vent. as for the two pigtails in the sixth picture yes they are for the radio as is the one in the seventh picture with the orange, brown, and black wires. the other two I can't remember correctly but I think the round one goes to the cigarette lighter while the other one I believe goes to the rear window defroster but I could be wrong on that one.

The fresh air vents sit below that plastic piece.  The hole is for a passenger side remote adjust mirror.

Today Andy (the guy I bought the car from) is coming to help.  I/we hope to get the interior back together, so all I have to do is paint the outside trim (rockers, fender flairs etc) and get the front and rear glass installed.  Mechanically the car drives, but I will have to have a smog test before I can get it legally road worthy.  It has been sitting for so long, I may need to replace some rubber parts under the hood.  If all goes well, I will be driving the car to Colorado for the Eagle Motel trip/Tour and Rambler Ranch.  If not, I am sure Terry has a car that I could drive.   Either way, I plan to be there (even if I have to drive my Mercedes Benz).....Rich

Much progress today.  Andy came up from Orange County today to help with the Eagle.  We got the instrument cluster and most of the dash parts in:

Photos of the progress:

We got all the headliner trim, pillar trim, sill covers, and opera window trim installed.  The back seat:

I also have a cool electric side mirror setup to replace the cable adjusted mirrors (Thanks Andy!):

Andy installed the front headlights and one bumper bracket (the other is bent), and worked on the window switches.  He got the two rear and the front passenger side hooked up no problem.   The driver side front is a different story.   Does anyone have or can get a photo of the switch wiring from the back side?   The plastic holder that has the wires in it can be opened up revealing the placement of all the wires, without disconnecting any of them.  Does anyone have a parts car or at least a door panel off that they can snap a photo of the backside of the switch for me?
I am ready to call a glass guy to come and install the rear glass and a new front windshield.  Then it is exterior trim painting time (flares and rocker covers).  It looks like I should have the car ready for the trip!!

If you're interested in sound reduction at all, you ought to line the trunk with sound deadening material while everything's out. It takes away rattles and reduces resonant frequency of sheet metal so that road noise and exhaust are muffled inside the car. I'm using GT Mat for my car, since it's thicker and way cheaper than Dynamat.

I just want to get the car on the road, and don't have the time or $ for upgrades right now.  After the Eagle Motel trip, I should have time to fine tune all the systems in the car.....Rich
