From Billy Curry on Facebook.

"as far as I know ...... the sedan is long gone, the blue wagon is the the one that fell on sean (crusher), the good black and woodgrain is the patmobile, the other rust free blue wagon is loooking for a new home and the final wood grain wagon is destined for scrap"

Hi gang,

Sorry I have been away for a while. I have been throughsome curves that life has thrown me in the past couple of years, the big ones being an employment change and divorce. Eagles had to take a back burner for a while.
The Eagles were taken to my place in Calcutta Oh. The black sedan was stripped out long ago and crushed. Capt. Spillane got the interior and some other parts went to fix the 3 solid ones.
The rusty blue wagon gave its roof rack to Rohnk, and parts to fix the others. Its slated to be hauled off for crushing soon.
The Black and woodgrain wagon is almost drive able, as soon as I can swap the tranny that is....
The all blue wagon is in a holding pattern until I can get time to change the tranny and front diff from a donor.
The blue wagon with grey hood I have done nothing with. Would like to find it a loving home as it has no rust...

Sadly my access to the cars is limited right now as they are at my ex's property....but a deal is underway to reclaim the property

Thanks for checking in at the Den and updating us on the cars.  Its good to know that some of the parts have been donated to help out other Eagles stay on the road!

And sorry to hear about the curves that have come your way.  Hopefully they will soon be in the rear view mirror of your Eagle.  And as a wise man once said, there is a reason the windshield is a lot bigger than the rear view mirror!

Hello,   I hope the cars that were scraped were gutted of all uasable plastic panels, door panels, glass, knobs, drivetrain, well everything that could be used to keep another Eagle on the road or made complete. I am not gettin' any younger and trying to keep my Eagle on the road is a challange at times. Still have seven Eagles at the house and they may end up in the crusher if there is no sanctuary.
I've shifted to Ford F150s between 1992 and 1996 with the 300 six, they are much easier to get parts for .. still driving an Eagle but rust in the front end is taking over. I've lined up a welder who says he can fab a support and weld it in that may give me several more years. Anyway ..  I hope there will be a sanctuary were these Eagles can be taken to, when its time to say googbye.                                                     Iron Horse  :o

There is really only one sancuary place right now and that would be Captspillane in Penn. At least he's on your side of the country. There are also several people decently close to you on the Eagle map that would probably gladly take a free Eagle.

I'm located half way between Philadelphia and Allentown. There were two other East Coast Sanctuaries that have come and gone. AJ was going to buy my sedan for his wife and I ended up with his wagon as a trade. I still have both because he divorced before I finished the work on the sedan. As far as I know all of the Eagles he had are gone. At one time he had 15 or so I think. He was located in mid western PA and was probably the first person to use the term "sanctuary." Sean's Sanctuary, located in western PA, also ended in divorce, although he still has a couple Eagles. I am going through divorce now too but it has just pushed me into working harder and faster in reproducing parts. I've owned 25 Eagles and related small body AMCs and still have twenty. I'm getting pretty good at restoring and fixing them up, with a few projects I've completed for other people.

I got a boost from working at sea driving oil, gasoline, and diesel form Philly to New York through the ocean. Two weeks on and two weeks off is a great schedule to turn a side hobby into nearly an occupation. I now work as an electrical engineer fixing CNC machines and am collecting the tooling and knowledge to launch into reproducing parts and retrofit kits at a large scale. Hopefully I will be around for a long time with many of my current cars returning to the road. That's the idea.

I will gladly accept the cars that no one else can fix or store. Most of the ones I ended up with were headed to the scrap yard. I have unlimited parking for a flat rate at a storage facility and I intend to make the most of that deal.

I'm two hours from Baltimore. I figure you are probably 4 hours away and about 230 miles. 440 miles at approximately 15 miles per gallon towing each car individually would cost about $100 in gas and 8 hours round trip. I'd have $300 and a full day into each car when you figure the time. That's reasonable. I may be motivated to fix the axles on the gooseneck to be able to transport two at a time.

Hello captspillane,

I am still willing to part with several of the Eagles I have left .. time just flys by, and I know I just won't be able to save them in the way you can. The front unibody frames are still good on three of the ones that would be leaving.  I'll stay in touch, and when the ground around here firms up, we'll set up a pick up date if you are still interested.

I'll still be interested. I can put them to good use. If one of them especially tugs at your heart strings I'd be happy to put some time into it and get it back on the road for you. You should make sure you keep one around that is really nice that you can baby and enjoy.

It is especially enjoyable if it is the conclusion of a project that has been patiently waiting for many years to come together. It seems you've been enthusiastically saving these for a long time and I hope that effort leads to a gratifying conclusion.

Hello captspillane,     I do have one I,d like you to give a life extention to, and I'd like to talk more about that. I have 4 that can go .. 3 of those have good 1/2 frames in the front end. Of course I hate to see them go, but do not want to see them rust into unusable pieces of crap either. I guess .. just give me several weeks notice before you want to make the "run"  and I can get the cars staged for loading. I also have many, many parts .. we can talk about them going too.   Email me or I can give ya my cell number for voice and text messages .. let me know.                    Later, Iron Horse  :o

Holy cow great to know there is a  place to save  the history of the eagle. I may have a wagon for you. Bought it sight unseen the guy sounded like he took care of his stuff, he has a daily driver wagon. Well the lower control arm snapped on the flatbed on the way to me.the body is beautiful everything is there. I bought another 4 door of c-list 3hours later and I am finding some rot on the frame on this one also. It might last me mabye 2years if left alone. I would love to get it welded if it can be. If not I'd like to donate or trade for some cash off a super solid one. I don't know what else to say other than let me know what's up.
