i have heard of putting stock taillamps in the oven at low heat to remove the stock red lens and then heating the clear material and conforming it to the shape of the taillamp housing.  i have never tried it or seen any results of it, but i might just have to one of these days with a scrap pair laying around the ECS

I had a silver SX/4 back in the eighties that I blacked out the taillights on. It's a special paint that allows the red to show through when lit. Looked pretty cool. http://www.vhtpaint.com/niteshades.html

Ya know the more I look at those tail lights the more fake they look. I could be wrong but it just looks computer generated to me...They are kinda like big foot...I have a picture of them but no one here has ever seen or heard of such a thing.

I've seen this car in person at the 2007 Kenosha AMC meet...but don't remember looking at the rear of the vehicle.

Very nice car though might I add...

I was thinking the same thing. It looks like he merged a black and white photo of the tail lights into that photo but it's harder to do that an an angle like he did.
