I would have loved to have been there but i'm still not 100% sure Eagle Eyes would be able to make that long of a trip that and I had to work.

I'm never 100% sure my Eagle will make a trip...anything can happen to a 30-year-old car with 171k miles. ;D This trip wasn't all that far...22 miles....but it did make a 60-mile trip earlier this week.

The way I see it---even a new car can leave it's driver stranded. I'd just as soon take my chances with the Eagle that I know well as with a new car that requires an engineering education to repair. :eagle:

2007 Hyundai Accent, radical downsize from minivan, wife's car and she loves it!

the reason I haven't tried yet is because she usually starts acting up after a 14 mile trip.

I understand maddog's thinking here and agree with him.  If I had a car that I didn't think could make a long trip, I probably wouldn't attempt it either.  Its no fun being stuck on the side of the road 50 miles from home

Maddog, if I put you on the spot I apologize. I didn't realize Eagle Eyes had known problems. And vangremlin is right...it's no fun to be stranded far away from home.

That being said, give us some idea of the things Eagle Eyes is doing to you. Someone on this forum has some ideas as to what you should do to make her more reliable. :eagle:

I am also sorry for putting you on the spot. Hopefully you can get eagleeyes back to the stage of driving long trips. If it is something that I don't think would make a long trip either, if I knew I had issues.

I know what's wrong with her I just haven't been able to get to it just yet as I have been busy with work and I need more than one day off to deal with it, which is why i'm trying to get Survivor's engine swap done so I can get to the things that Eagle Eyes needs done to her.

We definitely need more mini-meets. Anybody in Ohio/Michigan/Western PA that wants to meet up for a Sunday let me know!!
My list of my cars/toys (or toys at my disposal!)

2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic
1993 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
2016 Triumph Bonneville
 1962 Cruisers Inc Mahogany Outboard

I like to to tell people my Eagle is like a Ferrari. It's quirky, tempermental, border-line exotic, and something you don't see everyday.  See? Makes perfect sense....
