Iron Duke T4 to T5
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:32:37 PM »
My Eagle has the iron duke with the T4 transmission and would like to look into a 5 speed.  I have seen info on swapping a T5 into an eagle with the 4.2, but cant find anything with the iron duke.  Its a GM engine, so maybe would a 5 speed from say a Chevy S10 work, or do I have better luck with one from a jeep?  Any info would be appreciated.

My guess is the chevrolet 5 speed would be the better choice since the iron duke is a GM motor,  i don't think the stock xfer case will bolt up and i am not sure if S-10s have a driver side output for the front axle

you have me thinking as well, I will do a little investigating here in central PA.  They guy I norminally deals with has a "no crush" policy on cars older than 15 years so there is a pretty decent chance he has something
