Title: 87 Comanche 4x4 (Seattle)
Post by: carnuck on January 09, 2014, 02:06:51 AM
'87 Comanche $3500 shortbox 4x4 4.0L/AW4/NP242 Daily driver. I'm about to change the trans and add a low range lever. It's lifted 5.5" with 33" tires and never done any serious offroading (just my driveway) Wheel alignment done last summer, new rear bumper with hitch 3500lb rated. 17 mpg highway empty and 14 mpg towing an SX4 at 55 mph.
It needs a few things done to be nicer, but no rust anywhere. Rollbar and canopy included.

More pics (mixed with other MJ stuff)

Bench seat, column shift, adjustable tracbar, new '91 up Radiator with cap. Full gauge package (in dash) Comes with a stereo to install. Has military interior lights on extension cords. New Brake master and '97 booster upgrade too.

Currently 3.73 gears (4.10s would be better)

Handles loads that scare bigger "1/2 ton" trucks. 3,000 lbs gravel was no problem.

Nice.  I wish Seattle was closer to the rest of the US.

Nice.  I wish Seattle was closer to the rest of the US.
I'll second that. All the Comanches that come up for sale around here are rusted out, ussually bad. My first car was from Washington, a 1970 AMX and it was rust free even inside the body panels.

New price guys. There is an electric problem (shuts off spark at operating temp and takes 10 minutes cooling to restart)

$800 for my '87 Comanche in Seattle with the 235/75R/15 tires on it now and the 33/9.5/15s on TJ rims for backup (not sure if I have them all still)
I have a D44 rear with 3.54 powerlock and 3.73 gears to go with from my '73 J4000's old front axle plus spare ECUs, tail lights, etc. I'm moving and need money to pay bills. Spare 4.0L bottom end too.

I do have it  GZ. Sitting on the shelf in my shed but between being sick at times with vertigo and trying to pack/move, I'm not getting much done.

I sold my Comanche to keep a roof over our head because I spent too much trying to fix it and it was a simple problem all along!
