Title: Road and Track "Eagle for Sale" Article
Post by: djm3452004 on July 22, 2019, 11:43:43 AM
Just saw this article this morning...

Why in the world do these "authors" not bother to research the basics of some of these vehicles they present in these pieces?  Even the Wikipedia page on the Eagle gets the 6-cylinder engine displacement correct.  I guess it's just easier for people to make the mental leap to the Eagle from the Cherokee, even though they don't realize that is backwards.

That aside, it's still nice to see the media reference, as these cars will never be high-dollar collector vehicles and will likely only remain kitschy cool or forever downright homely to most people for the foreseeable future.

I had seen this car listed at that dealership here in Denver.

It's in pretty decent shape but not without flaws.  One other inaccuracy in the article - it has leather upholstery, not vinyl!  Like you say, do your homework before writing about a subject you know nothing about!!!

For the Eagle, perhaps some news is better than no news, but it would be nice if they did a little more homework.  Haggerty just printed an article about the Eagle, the Brat and the Thing.  Seems the guys "testing" them recently had some fun.  I am actually impressed that most Eagles have well over 100k miles on them and are still on the road.  Pretty good for an 80's vehicle.
