87 eagle rear axle shafts

after my right rear wheel came off the car while going at about 30 mph I have decided I want to upgrade the rear end all together This my 1st car that is just for me to try and restore .I'm fifty yrs young and don't have much experience.Ant suggestions for a swap from another vehicle or any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated

Yup, determine what ratio you have, then we can offer up some suggestions.  If its a 2.35 then you are either stuck with finding a replacement unit from another 2.35 Eagle or look into something to swap into both ends of the car.

Its a while since this topic was activ, have someone find a source of new axle shafts?
My came off too, i have the 2.35 trac lock and front a shift on the fly, i dont want to swap an other on both ends.
Maybe an amc 20 and fit it to the 27 spline? how thick is the 29 spline end on the amc 20?
if its thick enough to mill the 27 out of it?

I don't believe there is a source yet for new axle shafts.  You may be able to find a used shaft in good shape.  Good luck!
