Hi guys,

Haven't posted for a while but the Concord is still running ok I guess. I've been having to clean the sparks of black soot every 100 miles or so. It seems to be ever since i advanced the non functioning stepper motor metering pin to all the way rich. So i'm guessing it's running way too rich although i was under the impression that this is the way to set it for the ECM Test by-pass so i figured it would be ok. I put it back to all the way lean now, which is how it was when i bought it. Then the other day i took her for a short drive and it died. I managed to get it going but fuel was pouring out of the large upper port which i had to plug.

Anyway. I want to install an MC2100 and there is one i have my eye on at the moment which is from a '74 jeep. I noticed the throttle linkage is not how an mc2100 of that year normally is and was wondering if it's set up for a jeep 304. I know you normally have to fab the linkage to pull down for a 258 so i was wondering if it's already set up for a pull down type throttle or would i still have to fab it to work or is it even possible to make it work for a 258?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Not MC2100, but an early Holley 2bbl I dug several out of my parts bin. Same base as 2100, but the same throat as BBD, so possibly the OEM airfilter could work on it. Custom linkage is needed for controlling either 2100 or one of these. I suggest a 4.0L throttle cable and make brackets.

AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

I have 2 of the Motorcraft carbs with 1.08 as well but plan to keep one for my car in case. I gave one to max98059 with SOTE, so I have to make sure it isn't back here in that pile again.

I think one of the Holleys is off the 327 I had and the other off the 290 I'm selling. The Holleys have replaceable jets AFAIK.

OK thanks guys,

I noticed in one of the pics of the carb I'm looking at has the throttle linkage behind, what I assume, is an AMC mod to be able to use the jeep 360's linkage so I don't think there will be an issue with modding a bracket to work with the stock 258 throttle linkage afterall.

Now it just depends on if I can win the :censored: thing...Unless anyone has one for sale for cheap (no more than $70)...?

I know guys have used a 1.21 also and say they are fine but I've read that there's a question of how it would affect the engine over time due to the larger venturi drawing too much air and also not being so good on mpg.

I just bought the set up from Gronk. Yesterday within 2 hours I had my motor purring again. It was so simple and the directions were a great help. no more stalling or sputtering. after all the research Here on the nest and elsewhere, I gotta say this was a great and easy solution. Now...I have no brake pressure so off to the next eagle project, I hope it's an easy fix  ::)
