Now look, this is what an Eagle is capable of. Our neighbours are cutting the appleyard and we were able to take some wood. The weight must be 2 tonnes or so. After this pichture I had to take a real tight turn in muddy circumstances. This was great fun! More days to come.

Nice pictures.
What kind of skid plate do you have under there?

I don't know what kind of skid plate that is. It was there when I bougt it and it looks good. It looks as an original accessorie. Anyone knows?

Did you upgrade to a 727 or at least a tcase with low range? If not, you'll find the 998's weak link. The torque converter neck doesn't like heavy loads! I snapped 3 in my second Eagle wagon before finding out the 4x4 727 was a direct fit (In fact, I'm about to do that to my wagon. I went through the Grand Wagoneer trans I've had kicking around and redid the seals and changed the filter so it's ready to go)

I took the Mexican 282 motor out of the Eagle (previous owner swapped it in from his Mexican CJ because the Eagle's 258 was lower mileage with an aluminum valve cover swapped in) and put it in the '83 Cherokee in the bottom pic to haul the trailer in the top pic that I made out of a '91 IH bus body. (middle pic is the kitchen in our mobile home before I started updating it)
I was going to take the 727 from the FSJ to put in, but then I found out it was a 999, so I kept looking for a 727 till I found major frame rust in the Eagle's rear framework from the inside.

That load would make most full size trucks cringe..Very cool photo

I have never seen apple trees pruned that way. Nice pic of an Eagle at Xtreme!! work.

I love the white Concord/Spirit turn signals. They look so much better than the original orange ones.

The replacement converter in my first one has a specially hardened drive neck with lifetime warrenty.

Looking good, Anjo!

I think there needs to be a category on towing Eagle in the Eagle of the month, because we definitely have a candidate here. Very cool. Thank you for sharing.

Thanx for all those nice replies! A 727 would be a good idea. This 998 is revised as new and has a new torque converter in, so when pulling carefully it should last. The surface was very slippery so the risk of destroying the autobox is not to big.....

You can nominate that theme for 2013.

Great pics. I too love that skid plate...or skid bars should we say. Never seen that before. Must be something custom...all the skid plates I've seen on the Eagle were actually plates.

Yeah, I blame the dyslexia! :)
A-A Eagle,
Think you could take some detailed photos of those skid bars so we can see how it's installed underneath?
