Wasn't quite sure where to put this...so if it is better suited elsewhere by all means move it. I remember seeing pictures of a fleet eagle (opera window delete) on the website but cant find it anymore. If anyone has any photos of them could you please post them. My sedan has a bit of rot in the opera window and was debating on either repairing it or just cutting out the rot then getting rid of the window all together... would like your opinions on both.

I want to say that was one of El Matador's rescues. IMO, as far as the opera window delete, I like it. Do it right and it will look nice, I wonder if one could use the early concord interior panels after this is done, that or out of a hornet (I wouldd assume so).

Those would be cool pictures and history to read about. I didn't know about the window delete. I've heard that the fleet eagles had bench seats across the whole front. Hopefully someone has pictures or even a testimony to what companies ever purchased them.

Fleet cars are always the first to die off as they are usually used hard and disposed of readily. I cant say Ive ever seen a fleet Eagle....Seen a concord or 2 though

The 1980 Concord I rescued is a base model, but not a fleet car. The same is true for the Eagle sedan pictured in the previous post. The major differences are that a base model has cloth seating surfaces and fleet seats are vinyl. Plus I don't think blue was an available interior color for fleet cars.

I've personally laid eyes on two Eagle fleet sedans and one Concord fleet sedan, all salvage yard sightings and all former Government of Canada cars. One of the Eagles looked really good too, but unfortunately back then I didn't have the means to save it. I didn't get pictures of the Eagles, but got a bunch of the Concord. Just picture this car with an Eagle grille, bumpers, and fender flares. Interior is exactly the same except with floor shift.

I thought I had some fleet data too. I found the entire 1981 Dealer Ordering and Price Guide among the archives. It includes fleet data too. I am thinking of either scanning the entire thing as a down loadable pdf file or putting it in the AMC Eaglepedia?

I have never seen a fleet Eagle in person...Ive seen a few concords though. I would love to find one though, they gotta be about the rarest models out there. Id be willing to bet alot of companies probably opted for the cheaper concord rather than spluge for the more expesive 4x4 Eagle.

I kind of like the look without the opera window in back. I also like the all vinyl seats as opposed to the vinyl/cloth seats like my base Eagle has.

I owned a fleet Hornet which also had the silver bumper fillers, just like the silver bumper covers you see on a NYC taxi.

Here is a pic that I saved of a Concord Sedan delivery with blue interior.

Interesting thread. Now that I know they made fleet versions, I happened upon an ad on the list allentown PA what appears to be an 85 fleet eagle wagon for sale. The bench seat and door panels I believe give that away. Looks saveable too.

I saw that one too. I hadn't noticed it had deleted rear windows before. Out of all the color schemes to go with he had to go there...it works great on a tractor but I've never seen it work on an auto.
