No start intermittantly plus a part ID

Working on a 1982 SX/4.  We purchased the car and drove it very little, but it seemed to run okay.  It is possible we did not drive it enough to have a problem. We pulled the head to do a valve job, do aluminum cover modifications, and install new intake gasket.  Now it will intermittantly fail to run.  As long as the key is held in the start position, it will crank and run 100% of the time.  However, when it is released it will sometimes die immediately, or it will sometimes run.  When it fails to run, the red wire with tracer (and resistor according to tsm) will get extremely hot, leading me to believe something it feeds must be shorting to ground.  I have followed the diagram and nothing strikes me as out of place, except I cannot for the life of me figure out what the small box is immediately below the fuse panel on the factory diagram.  It appears to have an electromagnet, but I don't believe it is a relay. Does anyone know that that box is, or what could be causing my no start?   By the way, the car has a new premium ignition module and was confirmed with a thought to be good used module.

I know where the switch is I'm just not sure how it could cause the hot wires.  And the diagram is definitly not a second view of the fuse panel.  If you could tell me how, I will post a picture of the diagram.

It is from the 82 AMC TSM.  It leaves the solenoid I terminal goes to a splice that feeds a yellow wire to the ignition module (which does not get hot) and a yellow wire to the firewall (which does get hot at least immediately after the splice). Once it enters the dash it feeds another splice which goes to the fuse panel and on to the mystery box via a 7.5 amp fuse and to the ignition switch.  I looked at the diagram and the ignition switch is labelled b1 b2 and b3.  I was thinking the b's would be battery, but that doesn't seem right to me.  Either way, in the run position the yellow wire feeds b1.

We recommend clicky pics.  This is a thumbnail picture that enlarges when clicked.
Photobucket has made a change in the way you copy the code.
Here is the way it looks to me:
For a single clicky pic, hover over the picture.  This will open a drop down menu.  Click on the fourth window, img.
It will then say "copied".
Go to the thread where you want to put the picture and paste it in.
For multiple clicky pics, hover over the pictures and click on the small box at the bottom of the picture.
Scroll down and click on "Choose action".  Click "Generate code for selected".
This will open another page.  Click on the third box, "IMG for bulletin boards & forums".  It will say "copied".  Paste it into the thread of your choice. 
In both instances you can select "Preview" to make sure it is what you want before you post it.

I believe that is the same wire that 83EAGLE! (Brandon) had go bad on him at the 2008 International meet and needed a car hauler to get back to the hotel. The next morning Doc Jurjen diagnosed the problem and cut the yellow wire to the computer and replaced the red fusible link and the car ran. Don't know if anything else was ever done to it or not. Maybe Brandon could let us know.

Ah yes the buzzer I never thought of that being the schematic.  And yes, pulling the fuse is the plan.  Plus, the buzzer does not work so I am wondering if thats shorted to its case somehow.

The fusable link had melted in two and when rehooked up and the key turned on the wirestarted smoking again.
