I was wondering what Eagles look like without their front and rear bumper. i was thinking about losing them for a cleaner look up front. has any body done this?

Mudkicker has removed the bumper on his blue sedan. I think some other people have done it before too.

These cars without front bumpers look like old people without teeth.  As for the rear, there's just no way to fill that void without custom fabricating something.  Then you have the holes on the sides after removing the end caps.

Honestly, I'd just leave it alone.  Especially if the car is in good overall condition like yours appears to be.

Not to mention, they do help a lot in minor hits.  I wouldn't want to risk my grill/headlights or taillights in a minor accident.

I'm not a huge fan of the way that looks, now that i can actually see it. Looks like im going to just leave it alone. Thanks for helping me avoid a mistake.

My decision wasvmade for me years ago when it was almost tore off trying to get unstuck. than when i restored it i left it off.

I think it was Mavericke that did something like that on an SX/4.  It actually looked pretty good.  You would have to find either another grille (because of the gap) or make one that extended all the way down.

the front bottom of the body (cowl?) could be made into a more spoiler look...

and then there's a great place for fog lights where the bumper arms came thru. 

it would actually be alot of work.  but you could get some kind of Modern slim-line bumper (IDK, like off a grand am or honda, or something like that) and incorporate it into the front, or Just fibreglass the front till it evens out.

OR

leave the bumper and the car the way it is.

I don't like the look of Eagle bumpers. I'm considering swapping with a Concord if possible but I've already wrecked the car once and the only reason it still looks good is because of the bumper. Not sure what to expect if I were to have another on-ice collision with a different bumper.

What this really needs is a bumper guard.

If you'd like to see what he did, he has a pretty extensive photo collection of his entire SX/4 build. Turned out pretty nice and he put the license plate on the huge blank space between the bumper mounting holes.

Oh and also if you look through some of those pics on that link you'll see it looks like he did have an accident in the SX/4 without the front bumper...you'll see some of the damage he got.
