4.0 engine swap in 88 eagle
« on: March 19, 2024, 11:15:03 AM »
Hello everyone, I need some help with my 88 eagle!
I'm trying to do the 4.0 engine swap. I have the engine bolted up to the tranny and t-case, I had ro use the 4.2 flywheel and torque converter but my issue is with the motor mounts! I can't get the ones to the frame fit in properly... I know the 3rd mount to the axle I have to build myself and it's almost complete but I can't do that until I get the motor bolted into the other mounts to measure the distance that I need to fabricate my new mounts. Is there a trick I'm missing?
I also would like to use the jeep wire harness any advice on that would be helpful as well.

Also, you will need to use the 4.0 flywheel/flexplate as the Jeep ECU gets its crank signal from the flywheel.
